Hi all,
I’ve got some more personal questions to ask, so, to avoid doxing, want another, second account. This account is pretty easy to piece together who i am. I can’t have that with my planned community questions.
However, it’s taken years to create my block lists.
Can they be exported and imported into another account?
Depends on the version of the instance you are exporting it.
Lemmy UI:
In your settings and click “Export” on the Import / Export Settings section
Then it downloads a json containing your Blocks. It “should” be importable but i never heard any feedback about it. It can of course not block people that are in not federated instances.
With some mild coding effort, there is also an API to export the data:
https://join-lemmy.org/api/main#tag/Account/operation/ExportSettings
Yep the ui uses the api
Locked for rule 5.edit: Misinterpreted the question. My bad. It’s unlocked again.

If you’re making it just to ask a few “personal questions” how many people on your blocklist would even see and comment on them?
And if your worried about it being tied back to your regular one, it seems like asking those questions all from a single alt would make it pretty easy to tie the two together…
It seems to me like just making a throwaway for each question makes a lot more sense. I also don’t understand why it has to be on a separate instance.
