“product X is new and just came out and it’s never been advertised, why is it not as big as product Y which has been around for decades and advertised?”

If you’re using Reddit as a barometer, there are more posts and comments on Reddit because Reddit has more users than Lemmy and both sites thrive on user-generated content.

The site is filled with users who think they are great and they are here to teach leasson to reddit. They have specific things they think are right and push away people who do not confirm to their ideas.

On such example , you cannot say Linux in unusable in any shape or form , they don’t like it here no matter what examples you give.

This is Community who thinks they are better just because they are superior.

I wanted to have some resemblance of Reddit but it’s far from it.

Ok how the hell do you build a community or an instance? Can someone explain to me like an infant?

Navigating as well… I’m guessing good content and posts will attract people here. However, the whole sign up process here was a huge turn off, for me.

Isn’t it a one page sign up asking for username and password with captcha?

At the top right on my web browser after I log in, I have a button that says “create a community”

I filled out the name of the community and then clicked create, and got a community.

        [email protected]

        That’s it

Rules: (interactive)

1) Be nice and; have fun

Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them

2) All posts must end with a '?'

This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?

3) No spam

Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.

4) NSFW is okay, within reason

Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected]. NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].

5) This is not a support community.

It is not a place for ‘how do I?’, type questions. If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.

6) No US Politics.

Please don’t post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected] or [email protected]
