Look at how shitty our implementation is. We need a full refactoring.

In my time we didn’t paste LLM-generated code we barely understand and hoped it compiled, let alone work. We pasted code from stack overflow we barely understood and hoped it compiled and let alone work, as god intended.

Source : happened to one of my best friends. Fuck you with a folding dildo, Samsung.

The entertainment system is basically a radio and hybrid telemetry. Everything else is CarPlay/Android Auto. No shitty outdated maps, no 90’-style MP3 player…

Still the reason that 20+ years later the second thing I install on any browser is a gestures extension (the first one is always uBlock Origin, obviously).

Immediate family and close friends only, less than 40 people. Major expenses were the photographer, food and booze. We rented a cheap, small place in the countryside, we planned and did everything else ourselves, having a kanban board in the kitchen for a year was fun! My wife even did the cakes herself because she’s an amazing amateur pastry chef. No DJ, but I spent months on and off curating a playlist with a good flow and steadily increasing intensity.
It was the perfect wedding. Huge amount of work but 100% worth it.

But there’s worse. In Spanish, “ser” and “estar” both mean “to be”, but have wildly different meanings and cannot be substituted for one another.
Happens to everything that becomes a commodity.
But Model Ms and Model Fs are still in production, and the MK ecosystem has never been so vibrant
You and me brother.
Which machine did you choose? I went for the Lelit Bianca, never regretted it.
Same. Old DB2 base from the 80’s that was migrated to Oracle in the 90’s then to Postgres in the 2010’s.
And the people there know all the column names by heart 😅
WFH@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How many floors are under an apartment on the second floor? (No basement)English2·1 year agoYeah there’s no confusion in French because “étage” literally means “floor above ground”, so calling the ground floor an “étage” makes no sense. It’s called “rez-de-chaussée” (“at street level”) or RDC for short. Same as “sous-sol” (“under-ground”).
French UK English US English Nème étage Nth floor N+1th floor … … … 3e étage 3rd floor 4th floor 2e étage 2nd floor 3rd floor 1er étage 1st floor 2nd floor RDC Ground floor 1st floor — Street level — 1er sous-sol -1 floor -1 floor 2e sous-sol -2 floor -2 floor … … … Nème sous-sol -N floor -N floor
A legitimate salvage

If you were to dip yourself in such a liquid, you would probably risk hyperthermia really quick though.
When I was a kid I remember copying entire games in BASIC printed in popular science magazines. They never worked because my dads computer had a slightly different BASIC dialect.
Good times.
