Yeah except smoking rates have increased since the invention of vapes. It if was strickly people smoking cigarettes swapping to vapes then maybe we could call it a success

My grandfather wakes up in the hospital after his third heart attack. The Doc comes over and says “you’ll need to stop smoking or else” and my grandad asked “or else what?” The Doc leaned forward and stared him dead in the eyes “Sudden death”

Apparently it worked. He said he never smoked after that

Growing up my sisters’ room was so messy you couldn’t see the floor. My(amab) room however was rather spartan

It actually drives me crazy when people don’t keep their living space clean. It’s way easier to maintain as you go than do those crazy cleanups once every blue moon

As an anecdote I can attest to this personally. I stopped using AI assistance tools for my work bc I noticed I’d stopped thinking about what I was doing

Unfortunately the game is specifically designed to waste your time if you want to see everything it has to offer. So it’s not really the communities fault for pushing to maximize that time spent. Just a consequence of a deliberately slowed down system

Well yeah ofc they are. They make the seats too small so you pay for the premium. They make the food too shitty so you pay for the premium. They add too many stops to the flight so you pay for the premium. They make the carry-on requirements too small so you pay for the premium. And on and on and on

It’s all about profit. Any system focused on profit will eventually (and always) remove any and all human elements as allowed for the sake of that profit
