You are correct about this, Im not disagreeing.
Im just saying it would be nice to have the choice between the traditional oath and a non-royal version for whatever personal reason. “I promise to be loyal, steadfast, and obey the laws of Canada” (etc). Seems like that wouldnt negate the technical role of the monarchy, I dont know.
Even acknowledging that he plays a legal role in how Canada operates (technically) its still ridiculous that anyone would have to do this, or get in trouble for refusing. An oath to obey the laws of a country, sure, but swearing loyalty to an unelected monarch seems like it should be optional at the least.
how would it lead to less good stuff?
Sorry, this isnt just about banning twitter because they dont like it. This happening because Twitter is boosting all manner of hate speech, misinformation, disgusting content and calling for violence against vulnerable people. Its an unmoderated far right propoganda hose. Free societies should ban nazi propaganda actually, we know what happens when you tolerate this stuff or brand it as “just another opinion.”
Well when you get cars designed by people who think safety regulation can be ignored, this is what you get.
the superior cybertruck
a lot of people were, but its hard to be heard over all the right wing messaging

We think google sucks times infinity no touchbacks! said Russia in an official statement
What a sane and not at all ludicrous response.
This reminded me of a documentary i saw about crow intelligence years ago on this topic, its worth a watch:

very interesting… ( ffwd to 44:00 or so to see more on their grudges, as shown by the “mask experiment”.)
the first person who develops a browser that effectively filters out AI results is going to do very well
no?
Journalistic standards exist. But for those you need qualified human journalists to give a crap about that kind of thing.
No. Please stop lying about this stuff. Biden didnt sit idly by and “let them get away with it” as you say. He did as much as a president could do in this position at the federal level.

But again, its the GOP (federal, state, Supreme Court) who are ending abortion access here.

Your logic to NOT prevent a GOP victory (when they are obviously the ones who made this happen, and will make it go further if elected) makes no sense here. Its coming off as a bad faith attempt to discourage voting.
If you actually care about abortion rights, then you should be telling people to vote against the party of forced birth in every election. The democrats need to be cajoled into doing more to help people, but they are in fact much better for reproductive rights.
Hopefully Germany learns from what has happened elsewhere and deals with this aggressively
