So basically the same outcome as the election. People haven’t changed.

I got apple devices, but it is more a take or leave it type situation where I wouldn’t feel like I’m missing out if I didn’t have them. Its just one of those nice options, but not irreplaceable tech to me.
It also probably helps that it is easy to ignore Apple and there might not be a feeling of missing out for those who don’t care for the Apple ecosystem. As big as Apple is it is kind of niche in the sense that a Windows or Linux user can just ignore its existence and not feel affected.
But, when it comes to Windows there’s lot of mainstream software, games, and even hardware compatibility that is affected by Windows dominance. Stuff like wine and proton being needed and not getting the same video card driver support leads to more resentment Windows actually having offerings people who tend to complain want.
It is a stereotype but Apple diehards seem to go along with whatever Apple pushes, and people who don’t like them don’t use them anyways. Meanwhile Windows and Linux seems to have more people who are nitpicky about what they use, so group that tends to complain is going to be complaining more loudly about the OS they use would be my guess.
I don’t think there is one that has the clean old OnePlus feel. I still liked them until the custom ROM support died out for follow up devices to keep it going beyond the official OS support, since the hardware was solid.
They peaked with the OnePlus 7 pro. Loved the pop up camera to provide a true full screen experience without pinhole or notches. Beautiful design.
These days companies have started removing them after a year, since denuvo went to subscription route over a one time fee.
Yeah duck is all over bothered with since it came out since you don’t even need to login to use it.
It was the same with Elon before he went head first into facism. They usually start by selling themselves as liberal with some occasional praise of conservatives. Then later claim they are moderate or the go to favorite of tech bros claiming they are libertarian, since saying they are conservative might receive backlash.
To a non US company please.
Yeah for the masses they will likely always flock to commercialized easy to use social media that reaches critical mass the fastest, so them being willing to move and keep moving is best we can hope for. For rest of us stuff like fediverse will be there to use.
I wondered because Facebook. Mostly only know old people using it these days. Boomers and people who were young enough to have grown up using it when it first came out.
Are they old people?
Its positive in that he is trying to create mutants so the world can feel more like Marvel. Or maybe The Thing.
Yeah I’ve used heroic launcher, but a native launcher is still preferred. I like the GOG launcher on windows.
Yep that’s my point. That they just assumed that it must be the case when that hasn’t been the outcome with innovation not coinciding with improved affordable living. Instead it’s just been further class divide despite advancements.
Innovation is its own separate thing from human outcomes, and advancement of improved human lives needs its own care and guidance. Its not going to improve just because science and tech is improving. Otherwise humans are no different than any other disposable resource from the view of the powers that be, and will be discarded and abused without care.
Which are separate things from people’s ability to financially support themselves.
People can have smartphones and tech the past didn’t have, but be increasingly worse off financially and unable to afford housing.
And you aren’t a space explorer.
I’m not arguing about whether innovation is cool. It is.
I however strongly disagree with your claim that people being replaced is good. That assumes society is being guided with altruism as a cornerstone of motivation to create some Star Trek future to free up people to pursue their interests, but that’s a fantasy. Innovation is simply innovation. It’s not about whether people’s lives will be improved. It doesn’t care.
World can be the most technologically advanced its ever been with space travel for the masses and still be a totalitarian dystopia. People could be poorer than ever and become corpo slaves, but it would fit under the defition of societal progress because of innovation.
Great for people getting fired or finding that now the jobs they used to have that were middle class are now lower class pay or obsolete. They will be so delighted at the progress despite their salaries and employment benefits and opportunities falling.
And it’s so nice that AI is most concentrated in the hands of billionaires who are oh so generous with improving living standards of the commoners. Wonderful.
Has America even given a reason to be given the benefit of the doubt on anything since the asset to Russia came into power?
And even if they express disapproval they will vote or not vote in the same manner because the other side is worse or both are bad.
