Such bullshit. We shouldn’t be prevented from exercising multiple rights at once.
Another reason to not like the militarization of law enforcement. There were no pictures of guardsmen. Does that mean only federal agents were there and nobody realized? The line between the military and law enforcement is no longer a blur, it’s a fucking mosaic.

The people who are asking that question are probably the people who believed they wouldn’t see a tyrannical government on US soil. If the Democrats hadn’t wasted so much political capital on bending over to billionaires and their gun control fantasy, more people on the left would be armed right now. Instead, they pushed the rhetoric that only crazy conservatives own guns. They pushed it so hard that now many crazy conservatives own guns. Of course they’re gonna love the Trump regime. One party spent decades saying they are horrible people for shooting paper, and did whatever they could to take that away from people. They don’t see what’s happening as tyranny because the Democrats told these gun owners they will face tyranny with a Democratic controlled government.
If anyone truly believes Trump is or is trying to be the American Hitler, then they are buying ammo and plate carriers.

The SIG P320 requires too much training and safety knowledge for the average civilian cop to use. Other non cop civilians though? I’m sure most will be fine.
Making your own firearms has always been legal in America. And it’s not exactly easy. Even 3D printed guns take a lot of work.
New ccw $50 + whatever your county charges. Total is usually over $100. That’s just to apply. You also have to pay for a class, which is usually around $200. Total for new ccw: about $300
Total for renewal: about $250
License for modern gun: unknown so far.
Regardless, this still gonna put the cost of lawful gun ownership out of reach for quite a few people. And for clarity’s sake, those people tend to not be white.
You’re not allowed to take the class unless you get the permit first. Your county sheriff can deny your permit for any reason they deem fit. And you still have to pay a nonrefundable application fee for the permit. All this law does is make lawful gun ownership more expensive than illegal gun ownership. How will that prevent crime? It sounds more like a great way to keep modern firearms out of a particular population that is historically on the lower end of socioeconomic class Kinda like how you had to pay a tax to vote. A tax that was a little too expensive for people of a certain socioeconomic class.
You can still get them if you have the finances to take a couple days off work, are white enough for your county sheriff, and can pay for a permit that allows you to take a safety class that you also pay for.
How does requiring a permit to take a class to apply for a modern gun (who’s system must be funded by an already underfunded wildlife agency) going to stop someone from stealing a gun? How does it prevent someone from walking into a movie theater and shooting up the place? How does banning the guns least likely to be used in crime, prevent crime?
Sheriffs will have broad authority to deny applications from people seeking to buy otherwise banned firearms, including those they believe may be a risk to themselves or others. Those who are rejected, however, could file a lawsuit seeking to reverse the decision.
Once someone gets an eligibility card, they must complete up to a dozen hours of training over two days, depending on whether they have already completed a hunter education course, and pass a test. At that point they would be allowed to purchase a weapon otherwise banned under Senate Bill 3.
