Skullvalanche@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some of your favorite lyrics?3·2 years agoPretty much anything by Electric Six or Clutch. Honorable mentions to Soul Coughing and VNV Nation.
Karma chameleon, you come and go ⋅ Karma police, arrest this ho. ⋅ Karma’s a bitch, it gets a little jumpy when you come near.
– Electric Six, (It Gets a Little) Jumpy
Like Harry Truman dropping bombs out of the air ⋅ Like any self-respecting multi-billionaire ⋅ This is who you are, five dancing teenage boys ⋅ Who sing their way into our hearts ⋅ Backstreet’s back, alright
– Electric Six, Jimmy Carter
Next thing that I did was tap out Morse code ⋅ With a wooden nickel on the receiver of the phone ⋅ Before I could complete it, I was quickly overtaken ⋅ By the angry spirits of Ronald and Nancy Reagan
– Clutch, X-Ray Visions
Skullvalanche@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some of the best purchases of your life?English5·2 years ago- A good ergonomic office chair.
- A sit/stand desk.
- Heavy duty wire shelves from Costco.
And because I drink coffee and I’m a total klutz…
- Contigo Auto-seal travel mug. These things are practically bomb-proof and prevent spills!
- a stainless steel double-walled french press. Also bomb-proof and retain heat really well.
Skullvalanche@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some of the best purchases of your life?English5·2 years agoJust a word of advice about any/all non-cast-iron pans… never take a hot pan and run it under water. It may create a very satisfying blacksmith blast of steam effect, but it almost invariably results in the bottom of the pan warping to be not-quite-flat.
Skullvalanche@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some of the best purchases of your life?3·2 years agoThings I have done with my Pi(s) –
- AirplayPi so I can airplay to my non-Apple speakers.
- OctoPi so I can interact with my 3D printer via the local network.
- Kodi media player
- HomeAssistant hub
- PiHole network-wide adblocker
- I put Tailscale on an older Pi and plugged it in on my parents’ network, so I have remote access to help them with their router or whatever.
- RetroPi - classic game emulator. Plays just about everything prior to PS2 generation stuff.

Skullvalanche@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some of the best purchases of your life?English32·2 years agoTSA Pre-check.
Yes, it’s fucking obnoxious that it exists at all, given the “security theater” of it all, but man… being able to breeze past the super long lines at the airport is such a better experience.

Skullvalanche@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•For those who were skeptics about the fediverse: what made you change your mind?1·2 years agoTo be honest I’m still skeptical of the Fediverse as a long term endeavor, but I’m going to give it a fair shake in the meantime.
That said, I was never much of a heavy user of twitter or reddit anyway, so watching the Fediverse explode while various corporate entities implode is just popcorn entertainment.
I found the web UI on mobile a bit clumsy for my big thumbs.
There’s a couple early beta apps for iOS:
Just came here to say that this also affects any applications that use the libwebp library.
That includes many apps that most people don’t think of as “browsers”.
Electron based applications all use chromium under the hood, and are quite common/prolific these days.
