Almost everything, but not quite.

That said, it is labeled “Full Self-Driving (Supervised)” on everything in the car.
Supervised as in you have to be ready to stop this kind of thing. That’s what the supervision is.

FTFY.
I’m sure the car did actually take the action. But there are TONS of unavoidable warnings and reminders to the driver to supervise and take control when FSD goes wrong.
Which you can do by such super-technical means as “hitting the brake” or “steering the other way” or “flipping the right stalk up”. Rocket science, I know.
Driver’s fault. Bad technology, yes. Worse driver.

shaggyb@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•AOSP isn't dead, but Google just landed a huge blow to custom ROM developersEnglish3·28 days agoI mean, you’re getting a lot of downvotes, but I’ve gone Motorola -> Motorola -> Motorola -> Pixel -> Pixel -> Motorola.
Both my Pixels died in less than a year. Each had battery life which, while it did improve over a few weeks as Pixel’s optimization stuff took hold, never reached an entire day. Both were unacceptably fragile. Both failed randomly, just out of warranty.
And the Motorola I’m using now has none of those problems, was cheaper, is faster, has a better battery, has a better screen, and in some ways is more customizable (fuck that unmovable search bar).
Like, really. Motorola is a sleeper brand. Not perfect, but damn good.

shaggyb@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•There's a noticable influx of trans kids in my job. Are there any topics I should avoid or considerations I should take into account when training them?10·1 month agoIf you struggle with pronouns, apologize casually when the pronouns come up.
As a fellow old, the kids don’t seem to necessarily get it that my brain is wired pretty hard not to change pronouns, but they do seem to appreciate the effort and the discussion that it’s a challenge rather than just fucking it up with no explanation.
Otherwise, be mindful that they take a lot of shit for parts of themselves that are background attributes for the rest of us. They can get pretty tired of it. A friendly person who regards them as just people may be the best thing they can get from anyone.
