Lingonaut looks promising. And I’ve been trying out Language Transfer for Spanish. I’ve learned more about how Spanish “works” in an hour of Language Transfer than I did with months of Duolingo. I’m smacking myself for wasting the time - though I do enjoy the gamification.

Secondly, I’m not gonna comment on the legality or what is protected under 1st amendment- it’s not my expertise. Negy is a piece of shit and everyone I knew who had him as a professor was glad he was gone. His hateful comments weren’t reserved for twitter - he said that shit during his lectures. I also suspect his tweets were a stunt to drum up sales for a book he published around the same time. It’s so easy to sell to conservative morons. Just say some inappropriate things, cry like a baby when the consequences of your actions appear, then hold out your hand as hicks, the sexually repressed, and just plain assholes come flocking to empty their wallets for you.

Wait - I had this on DVD and loved it as a kid. I watched the English dub of course because my 10yo brain didn’t have the patience for reading subs.

I used LLMs (gpt4.5-preview) to write portions of my resume. But I also used a paid service that uses AI to supposedly scan your resume in the same fashion these HR tools do - and gives recommendations on improving to better get past the filters. I’m early in the process but I’m getting a solid amount of HR interviews scheduled, and a technical interview tomorrow.

My point is, I don’t think using AI in a resume is necessarily a bad thing so long as you go into it with the intention of getting past filters.

It sucks that job searching has devolved to SEO-spam and AI hallucinations but here we are.
