One required a $14/year subscription, the other $90/year

So, why are you using a subscription at all, and not a free and open source app?

You know what Blender is? It’s the industry standard. Why is it the industry standard? Because it’s free, open-source GPL, it can never be taken away from you, it can never be “acquired”, everybody’s using it, and everybody is contributing towards improving it. Nobody is bitching about how Blender is extracting millions of dollars from its users and reducing its feature set at the same time. (*cough cough* Photoshop *cough*)

Free and open source software. Every. Single. Fucking. Time. Fuck subscriptions.

I find that hard to believe.

• Draw distance sucks for a vast ocean of plants and sealife. Seriously, I have a really good video card, and this fucking Unity engine can’t draw 500 feet in front of me.
• So many wall “suggestions”, clipping, other graphical glitches, especially near the end area
• Incredible music, but it’s barely heard because the game either cuts it off midway through or decides to go silent most of the time
• Bad save serializations that can sometimes spam a ton of error messages on load
• You can’t kill anything, including warpers that are more dangerous than leviathans
• Can’t walk with a Prawn in an alien base, because you end up getting stuck on the floor for some reason
• Reaper in caves, who can drop you off the map
• An insulting unrealistic O2 meter, and not enough keyslots
• The Cyclops is. Fucking. Useless. By the time you get this thing, the leeches in volcano areas fuck you over, when power is already a precious resource. And it still needs full upgrades to make it even remotely useful in Lost River.
• Torpedos are useless. Flares, Floating lockers, air pipeworks, nuclear reactor, alien containment, all useless.
• Death might as well be like hardcore, since losing a vehicle is worse than losing 30 minutes of progress

The first game was one of the buggiest mess I’ve ever seen with a game that has so much praise. And this was seven years after it launched.

I had to stop when the villians were monologuing right in the middle of a fight scene, in the most cliched way possible. And this was after some mid gameplay, with a clearly telegraphed rugpull plot point that seemed like it was going to be the centerpiece of the whole story.

I’ve been using DDG for a bit, and honestly, it’s kinda garbage. They are just borrowing data from Bing, and it shows.

Nothing is “an apocalypse” for anything.

JFC, people, stop pushing these extreme opinions on AI. It is not simultaneously the solution to everything and the end of the world. It’s just a goddamn tool.

It’s almost as bad as the opposition’s comparison of it to Skynet. People are never going to understand technology without applying some fucking nuance.

Stop hyping new technology… in either direction.

It was still a really good game by the time they stopped working on it, and one of the least greedy CCG I’ve ever seen. Hearthstone was already starting to lose players, and they had a shot at being a replacement, even if the mechanics of the game were rather different.

And then Marvel Rivals came out and the CCG landscape was just overpopulated.

Kernel-level anti-cheat can go fuck itself.

Only the Sith believe in absolutes.

I don’t think it has anything to do with their physical media, and everything to do with their successful video games sales over the past few years.

Especially when Apple is the one who dictates what is “perfect”.

We’re talking about software engineers, not plumbers.
