owen@lemmy.cato Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Florp, the Firefox fork with an awful name, is fully source-available again3·1 year agoYeah, I wasn’t talking about Floorp in particular. In fact, I read ‘Open Source’ from the Lemmy post title and attributed that language to Floorp itself.
After checking the project, I agree with what you’ve said here. Thanks for your thoughts

owen@lemmy.cato Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Florp, the Firefox fork with an awful name, is fully source-available again4·1 year agoYeah my bad…the title of the post said Open Source when I first saw it and I never clicked on the repo itself

owen@lemmy.cato Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Florp, the Firefox fork with an awful name, is fully source-available again21·1 year agoI don’t trust people who use misleading language. I’m fine with buying or using closed source or source available software, but don’t call it open and don’t say your ‘F’ is for Freedom.
owen@lemmy.cato Free and Open Source Software@beehaw.org•Florp, the Firefox fork with an awful name, is fully source-available again21·1 year agoYep…when software advertised as “Open” uses that type licence, it goes straight to the trash.
owen@lemmy.cato Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Programming languages personified - leftoversalad28·1 year agoThis is awesome. Rust wearing full plate armor to dinner is hilarious… Also what’s up with Scala? lmao
It drops deep as it does in my breath. I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death.

owen@lemmy.cato News@lemmy.world•As states, including Colorado, target disavowed "excited delirium" diagnosis, police groups push back51·1 year agoExcited delirium is a four-decade-old diagnostic theory that has been used to explain how a person experiencing severe agitation can suddenly die while being restrained. Last year, the American College of Emergency Physicians withdrew a 2009 report that had been the last remaining official medical pillar of support for the theory used increasingly over the prior 15 years to explain away police culpability for many in-custody deaths.
Ayo WHAT?

The newest generation will probably be willing to take some major risks. Millennials and gen Z were raised with hope but I don’t think that idea was passed down.
I think apathy, hopelessness and rage let people do violence and there’s a lot of that going around now.
Meh, that already comes with infinite problems, so what’s one more?

So lay off on laying me off for laying off.
This seems weird. They say they let you stream with Tidal and Qobuz, is that why it’s a monthly fee? I don’t really get how the pricing model fits the Roon software features.
Yeah. My intro programming classes used C and C++ and they were great for illustrating the fundamentals. Plus I think it’s important to learn the building-blocks/history
