The problem is properly translating that from paper to digital. With a physical paper, you don’t even need to subscribe, you can just go out and buy one copy with a day or week’s worth of news. As for the ads, they’re static text/images printed on a piece of paper. They don’t overstimulate you by jumping around or block the content you’re actually there for.
I just listen to music on YT in a browser with uBlock Origin.
I assume they’re not that big into politics and just wanna appear moderate.
No, cutting out the few minutes a day I still bother with it isn’t exactly going to have spez standing outside my bedroom window with a boombox trying to get me back. I use Lemmy, but I’ve mostly gone back to message boards, so I’m content with where I am.
