I’ve been loving Rematch. It’s so far outside the norm of what I would typically play but I’m having a blast. For me, the controls have taken time to get used to but I think it’s just because I don’t play games like this ever. The more I’ve played (and I’m playing a ton), the better I get. The controls are becoming more natural and I’m starting to develop muscle memory. It’s very satisfying consistently getting better.

For me, switching to 3v3 made a big difference. It forced me to get better because I was handling the ball way more often.

My biggest issues now are teammates never passing and terrible goalkeepers. I’m constantly seeing people leave the box empty and just take the ball downfield. I just hop into the goal every time it happens but it’s annoying seeing this sort of selfish playing. Teams that treat it as a full on cooperative team sport are always more successful. And even if we lose those games, it’s just so much more fun working together.

I hope you see this, OP. I don’t know what you expected or hoped for here, but it just didn’t happen today. That sucks for you and I empathize with that. Now, I don’t know you and you don’t know me, but I just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, please log off.

I hope to someday have someone to call my partner again. We’ll see.

And not having closure can feel awful. Maybe one day, if it feels right, you two can have a good faith conversation and at least get a sense of finality? If that’s what you both want, of course.

It sounds like you were really able to make space for yourself after you two separated. To figure out who you were at your core, outside of being a parent and a partner. I’m happy to see you were able to transition and live openly, and I really admire your ability to admit your own mistakes and flaws. Wishing you both the best.

I find Mac Demarco to be quite warm and chill. He writes very mellow singer-songwriter type indie music. A good example might be the song Moonlight on the River. If you like that, you’ll probably like most of his stuff.
