My opinion: no. Children under certain age have no capacity to detect malice or disinformation when interacting with others, especially adults and algorithms bent on harm.

Hell, most adults probably aren’t. But as long as a child has a guardian, it’s the guardian’s responsibility to teach, guide and protect.

Letting a child lose into the internet is harmful, just like letting one out into a city.

I don’t think age verification is a particularly good tool to enforce that, but I don’t know what is, on a societal level.

I do agree with the stated goals tho.

Honestly it might be old enough you’d get your money back in lower power bills if you get a new one (not for features, just newer LED/OLED tech).

My power bill spiked in covid because our 2008 samsung was on nearly all the time, and it drastically dropped when we switched to an LG oled.

I switched to Nord after running my 3T down and I’m really happy, I got a great upgrade in hardware AND no shitty curved screen for 1/3rd of the price.

They were always an oppo spinoff, and after capturing their customer base they got spun back in. I hate corporations.

Credit cards don’t have to mean debt if you pay them off before the intrest applies. That’s how you use them responsibly. Many don’t.

I hope I wont get brigaded, but of hosted options I like Gitlab. They are fairly transparent as a company, and I’ve used their community edition for work and private projects for nearly a decade.

Not just hosting, I like their CI/CD and devops features too.
