Avatar is a lemming in bed because this account wasn’t intended to be used except for creating communities… and then my instance announced it was closing.

I’m in England and my language is set to English, yet for some reason when I was browsing AliExpress a few weeks ago it was stuck in German and I couldn’t see how to change it. Go to the homepage - German. Click on a result from a search engine - German.
I don’t know where it got that from, it wasn’t the IP either as from a computer on the same address it was fine.
Yes, you only know what you’ve experienced. If everything’s blurry, that’s normal.
I know when I got my glasses, the optician said to look across the road with my glasses on. There was a brick wall the other side and I could see it clearly. I was amazed and said as much. I don’t think my sight had always been bad but it must have been bad for long enough for that to be a revelation.
In junior school I lost my pencil (because this was so long ago I’m not sure how that happened). Teacher told me to look for it rather than just giving me a replacement. I looked everywhere, under everything, and I didn’t stop looking for it because, well, what else was I supposed to do?
Anyway I got told off for that even though that’s what I’d been told to do.
I definitely got a ruler to the bottom in that class (in front of everyone) although I’m not 100% sure it was for that incident.
Caws 🏴
(Actually I’m English so that’s not my language, I just happened to know that one in Welsh)
I’ve not been to Bucharest airport so I don’t know how big it is or how it is laid out. However, usually you will go to check-in and baggage drop for Lufthansa - they will have an area which is labelled up, you might need to walk around a bit but the check-in areas should all be next to each other - and they will give you a boarding pass. You then need to follow the signs to the gates. That will take you through security and usually to an area with duty-free shopping. You’ll see some boards there which will tell you which gate you need (look for your destination and the flight time or number). Sometimes they don’t announce it until the last minute. You’ll then need to follow the signs to that gate, it can be a bit of a trek if it’s a big airport (allow plenty of time to get there - I’ve had it where I’ve walked a fair way, past lots of other gates, then ended up having to get a monorail, followed by a bit more walking). When you are at the gate, wait until they call you for boarding. If it’s a big plane you’ll walk down a tunnel directly onto it, otherwise you’ll be sent outside and have to climb up the steps.
Airports can be a bit daunting but they tend to be very well signposted and lots of staff around to ask if you get lost.
Enjoy your trip!
(Also don’t get used to business class - he’s been generous there, you’re very lucky)
Oops! I got the domain wrong. It should be [email protected] (I have other communities on lemmings.world and got mixed up)
I have a wicker one I’ve had since I was a kid, it’s only just lost one of the handles after (hmm, not sure when I got it) over 35 years. It’s still in use elsewhere, but I bought a replacement that was an absolute bargain sort of collapsible wooden one. It was a bit annoying to construct but seems alright.
My second computer (actually a C16 but they’re pretty much the same). I moderate !plus4@lemmings.world retrolemmy.com although it’s not very active.
Sinclair ZX81. Eventually upgraded to… hold onto your hats… 16K.
The acceleration on the Teslas is mad. Completely unnecessary. All EVs are quick from a standing start though - due to instant torque and no need to change gear, you can easily beat the tosser in the BMW when the lights go green.
I’m not aware of anything, maybe there’s something in the Lemmy config? Is federation generally working?
Nope. Some people do care though. I’m more concerned with the interest rate as it makes a big difference to my mortgage.
Yep, I’ve never needed to ask a question on Stack Overflow as everything I’ve searched for has been answered already… or I’ve looked elsewhere for the answer as I’m not allowed to upvote, downvote or ask questions on it anyway due to lack of karma (or whatever they call it). No wonder it’s in decline if nobody new is allowed to contribute, and every new question is closed as a duplicate.
Are we sharing pylons?
I prefer line dried as they are way less creased than when they come out of the dryer.
It’s like that Trump watch with the T missing. “I was expecting something with the integrity of the President”. Yeah, you got that.
