But your shit quality process already admits that failure is progressive. What are you going to do for customers who get a failure years later because of your bad manufacturing?
Answer: nothing!

It only runs for about a day on batteries; it’s not meant to be used from batteries regularly. It doesn’t charge the batteries, but I use rechargeable batteries as the backup. It’s an Acu-Rite model 08550.

I have a friend from way back in HS who interned there while he was working on his degree who said that cloud services was the priority at the time, and Windows was more just a vehicle that they continued to maintain. That continues to be the approximate temperature of the product and is in line with my expectations.
henfredemars@infosec.pubto Technology@lemmy.world•Windows seemingly lost 400 million users in the past three years — official Microsoft statements show hints of a shrinking user baseEnglish16·7 days agoI could imagine a future where Windows is just a proprietary DE over a Linux system. I don’t think it’s coming anytime soon because of the development cost it would impose, but I don’t see why they would go to such efforts maintaining a system they could get for free if the desktop user base keeps shrinking. They’re just too greedy not to do that. Even the backwards compatibility with Windows software is becoming a solved problem.
Aside from my above rant, the PC is definitely fast becoming an enthusiast/business platform. I opened a retirement account the other day through my smart phone!

henfredemars@infosec.pubto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your up- & downvote behaviour?English2·11 days agoIt’s always going to be a subjective process. The difference is I try to base it on effort and value for time. I’m not a computer but I can influence what I value. I can appreciate a good argument or an opinion I don’t like. I’m not perfect, but I think I can strive for that.
If that feels like the same thing as approval, then I perhaps a moment of self-reflection on whether things can have value that one dislikes is in order. I hope Lemmy won’t become more of an echo chamber than it already is.
The biggest failure of the US is ultimately its educational system.
