Not an apple fan but this is the only aesthetic tech should have. Transparent plastic everything. I yearned for the clamshell PowerBook g3 as a kid. Still do.

Silicon Valley also makes fun of nerds, but it’s for nerds. BBT just made nerds the butt of the joke.
Mods removing shit?!
TSA pretends to keep people from bringing bombs and guns on planes.
The Slate truck looks interesting and is exactly what you describe. Time will tell if it pans out.
Are you forgetting about Breath of the Wild?
I like valve and my steam deck but I don’t get why they don’t get more shit for CSGO skin gambling.
What I like, screen is almost as good as the oleds, games with patches play and look better (BoTW and ToTK, been playing echoes of wisdom) Mario kart is a blast. Can boost headphone volume to much louder levels after disabling the limiter.
What I don’t like. no USB c video out on xr glasses or portable monitors. virtual game cards are regressive. game key cards should register for a month or at least a few weeks. having to put one in every time for a downloaded game is dumb. battery life is ass.
hopefully more switch one games get patched to take advantage of the hw. looking forward to Metroid
I think my dad was pretty up on stuff at the time and saw all the issues the Adam was having. That and Andy Warhol/Lou Reed Amiga ads.
Oh no. My parents had intended to get an Adam but went with an Amiga. We did have a coleco vision though.
My family’s first computer was an Amiga 1000. The office was across from the bathroom and my dad would type in stories for it to speak while I played in the bathtub. Good times.
My first computer was some random 386? my dad found in the trash. I think the power supply was dead and all that needed replacing. Who ever threw it out left a HDD full of cga dos games for me to explore. Only one I remember liking was elite, which I played the crap out of. Felt cool to be the only kid in town with their own PC in the mid 90s.
I do use it, probably one shoot or so a month. out of every 100 pictures I probably have one great one and 10 others that would be good with editing but I never go back and edit them. A phone is probably better for most people most of the time but there are definitely cases where it wont do the job.
I initially bought it when I worked over night shifts and wanted a night time hobby on the weekends, so I wanted to do deep space photography. I finally got on days soon after and am not up as late anymore so mostly take it on hikes, or birding and rarely around the city.
I rarely talk about it unless I show a picture that people ask “how’d you take that?” and I have to explain. I’ve bought a few lenses in 5 years but think I’m set on those. Maybe in another 5 years I’ll upgrade the body. For me it’s been a worthwhile investment.
It must strain a lot of brain cells parroting ol musky.
Yes dedicated cameras are still around. They aren’t going away anytime soon. I really like my Fuji camera.
Canon makes great optics and decent hardware but is pretty bad at everything else.
Maryland early 2000s. We had a real health teacher. It was pretty clinical and factual for the most part. The only thing that really stood out was the teacher telling us that peeing killed any sperm left in the urethra and a kid asking if he could “piss in his woman and not wear a condom.” This poor old teacher has to say “Do not piss in your woman.”
USA. 3 weeks vacation max out at 4, 1 week sick time, 1 week “personal time”. 10 holidays but we are running 24/7 so if you are scheduled to work you get time and a half those days plus 8 hours of extra pay. You get paid out any sick/personal time you don’t use but vacation days no longer roll over. I liked saving up 2 years of vacation and fucking off for two months.
Damn op started the thread out with a bang. Soda, and sloth would be mine.
It’s always sunny in Philadelphia, Seinfeld, Community, How I met your mother, Psych, Classic Trek (TNG,DS9,VOY,ENT), Firefly, Bones.
Mostly just as background noise when doing stuff. Doesn’t absorb me like a podcast or audio book might since it’s old information and doesn’t amp me up like music does.
I took down all the lan ports in our cube area connecting a raspberry pi to the network. I left network as static as I set it up and installed it into equipment where it won’t touch the network but the machine can talk to it, but then realized I needed some extra software. So I brought it out to my desk where I had set it up while it was set to dynamic and it caused the whole switch it was connected to to shut down. No one really seemed bothered when I went to get it fixed. Concerningly not bothered in fact.
I wanted a cybiko so bad as a teen. It seemed like it would be so cool if everyone I knew bought one. Of course no one did, but I still think they are awesome.
