gt5@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your method of enjoying (or at least tolerating) physical exercise?7·2 months agoI used to hate running until one day something clicked in my brain. I just ran my second half marathon last week. One thing I learned was that of your dying from running, you’re probably going too fast and should just slow down.
My PT told me that the best exercise is the one that you can do consistently

The problem is it’s only for 2 years (3 with a phd)
gt5@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is there steam coming out of the streets in New York2·3 months agoI don’t know why they include the surrounding areas as part of the city population. The 5 boroughs is roughly 8 million people. If you live in jersey city, you shouldn’t be counted as part of nyc population

There used to be a sub called /r/suicidewatch where you could post those kinds of thoughts safely. There can obviously be some issues with that but what a change

gt5@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Programmers of Lemmy, what are your interviewing horror stories?281·9 months agoI’m not a swe but I work in technology doing solutions, so semi technical I guess. I recently did 6 rounds with a company with positive feedback after each round. They told me they needed to get through a few more candidates and would have an answer on if an offer was being made the following week.
1 week turned into 2 into 3. At the end of the third week I lied and said I had an offer and told them that I needed an offer from them or to remove me from candidacy. The opted to remove me.
I was working at a job, so I wasn’t stressing it but the process was just gross

gt5@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you could be any age for the rest of your life, which would you choose?3·1 year agoI just turned 40 this year. I had the same thing when I turned 30 - I had wasted most of my 20s doing drugs and partying. I can honestly say that my 30s ended up being the best years of my life (so far)
How is the dlc? I had a tough time with outer wilds. At the time I played it, I found it to be very frustrating. I needed a spoiler to get past two or three major points. But in hindsight I think it’s really an impressive game. I’m thinking about picking up the dlc, but I’m not sure about it and I don’t want to search about it to avoid spoiler.
I did not like it at all. I thought the writing was bad, the cut scenes dragged on for way too long, and the characters and the world were uninteresting
