Maybe this is too idealistic, but I strongly believe that instead of identifying with one arbitrary group or another, perhaps we should aim to identify as human or even as part of the nature itself.
Been reading Nationalism by Rabindranath Tagore. So, I am wondering if National identity of an individual is actually taught and whether nations is even a good thing.
I guess, I turning into a bit of an anarchist.
fckreddit@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which Video Game was most influential on you as a child, and why?3·28 days agoJohn Marston before RDR was a terrible person and he was trying run away from his past. He was, eventually, forced to confront his past, specifically to save his family. Of course, he was killed regardless. Despite wanting to redeem himself and living peacefully with his family, he met a violent end. Almost as if the world saying that there is no redemption for him. This story really made me appreciate stories in general and flawed protagonists like John Marston. Perhaps, the story taught me how pointless ‘regret’ is. John had very little control over his life and his death. He couldn’t change his past, nor control his future, which hurt me really deeply. But this is true for everyone of us. And I have learnt not to regret the past. “World might not forgive you for your past mistakes, but you still can forgive yourself.” is my goto mantra.

BTW, I think it is meant to be scrap steel.
Zaytoon is also used in urdu and hindi.
I really wish I could say the same. Depression sucks.
On a serious note, last year I felt so pathetic after reading a comment on a question I posted on stackoverflow that I went over the edge and attempted suicide and like everything else I failed. Not saying that SO was responsible or anything. One guy pushed me over the edge, when I was already under a tremendous stress.
I do. Let me delete my account and come back tomorrow with the same question.
I wouldn’t call stackoverflow reliable. It is only partly reliable, if you are lucky.

He was such a kind soul in a cruel world. He gets treated like shit fairly often and he is very earnest in his affection towards Elric Brothers, maybe too earnest.

This is stupid, silly and somehow still funny.
