Online friends helped me get through puberty tbh. Irl my classmates were mostly bullies.
If the internet didn’t exist I very likely wouldn’t be alive today, so I guess not

Pondsmith revealed that he’s not as involved with the second game as he was with 2077, but said he’s keeping track of its progress. The game designer went on to claim that the sequel will feature Night City, as well as a second, unspecified location.
So it’ll have a new city as well as Night City. Which is good - Night City has more stories to tell. All the TTRPGs were based in NC, as was Edgerunners. Leaving it behind completely would be wrong.

I use DeArrow and as such didn’t recognize the thumbnail or title, but I’ve seen it - so if anyone else was wondering there you go.
Doesn’t matter at all. Usually off because of comfort, but not for cleanliness. What other people do, I don’t care. If it gets dirty it’ll be cleaned at some point.

Not quite as much as I thought (most extension cords seem to be rated for a bit more, which makes sense), but definitely enough to run monitors of the same breaker.

Da Bald Eagul@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If all your basic needs were met and you didn't have to work to get by, what would you do with your life?10·2 months agoSame here. I wanna study compsci, do some research into things I pick up as being interesting along the way, then work on FOSS for as much as I can (without burning myself out, or anything like that). The world doesn’t appreciate FOSS enough, but it could very well be the future of computing, as our capitalistic society quickly gets fucked up :')

Da Bald Eagul@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Name of exercise machine (?) with three concentric rings and a person strapped into the middle spinning in all directions?2·3 months agoI do get car sickness too, but from what I know that’s related to a mismatch between what your eyes see and your ears’ balancing organ (forgot the name sorry, not a native speaker) feels.
So in the car, you see your environment staying still around you, even though the vehicle is accelerating or decelerating. In this gyro, you could in theory see more of it, so this effect wouldn’t be as bad.

It’s been a bit so I can’t really go into detail (my memory is pretty shit lol), but I’d definitely recommend it. Not nearly as nauseating as you’d think it’d be, in my opinion.

I’ve actually been in one of those, it’s pretty cool. Just for fun though, not as training. So I didn’t control any of the movements.
Da Bald Eagul@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does anyone here actually use (or know someone that use) flip-able/foldable smartphones?3·3 months agoMy teamlead had a Galaxy fold (the big one, not the flip-style) second-hand so it was cheap-ish. She liked it, unfortunately she broke it (though not in a fold-specific way iirc). She now uses a regular slab phone due to the price difference.
I’ve seen her phone and a display model in the store, the crease really doesn’t look that bothersome to me. I’d buy one if I could (somewhat) easily install another OS on it, if my current phone breaks or loses support for my apps. Assuming that they stick around and the price won’t be as exorbitant in a year or two, that is…

Da Bald Eagul@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you call "pancakes" in your country?5·4 months agoIt is different though. Crêpes are thinner still. Texture is also different, the pancakes are more “airy” than crêpes. They are also prepared differently:
Leavening: Pancakes usually include a leavening agent like baking powder, which makes them rise and become thicker. Crêpes don’t have any leavening, so they stay thin. Batter: Pancake batter is thicker than crêpe batter.
Pancakes are cooked on both sides on a griddle or frying pan. Crêpes are cooked very quickly on one side on a special crêpe maker or a hot plate. ^(For quick reference. Answered by Gemini 2 Flash using Kagi.)
Both are really good, though.
Could be an announcement like “Hey guys, tomorrow you have the day off on us. Have fun!” at the end of the work day or whatever.
Saying “you get one day PTO to use whenever you want” is of course better, but sometimes unplanned free time is nice too. Both would work fine imo.
