Skyrim and Oblivion difficulty is very stupid. If you change difficulty after playing a character for 100hr it isn’t so bad, but if you want to start out on the hardest difficulty, I’d say it’s actually impossible to play unless you have some kind of cheese tactic. Shooting a barbarian for like 1/100th of their health bar? And they one-shot you? What the hell kind of design is this?

Are there any good examples of AI in games that do the opposite of this? Off the top of my head, pretty much every game works like this, I imagine having every NPC having its own vision & memory would become very complex to manage.
It is a fine line, like in Minecraft durability obviously makes sense, so it makes sense that other games try to emulate that. But then look at Stardew Valley, one of the most popular mods is the one that stops fences from degrading because repairing them is tedious.
That’s what makes it so good haha, I only have it as a treat thankfully it isn’t widely available in my country
1.5l isn’t available in my country, but if it was, I’d drink it in one sitting haha
Jarritos and it isn’t close. The Mandarin flavour. Mexican sugar is next level.
I also think Coke itself is ‘underrated’ I would go so far as to say it’s an elixir. Hungover? Need a pick-me-up? Just want a nice drink with dinner? It’s insanely good, probably why it got so popular in the first place. You can say the same for any sugary soft drink though.
That’s fair, we do have too many names for our small island.
When did I argue? You’re entitled to your opinions and as I said I’m not going to disagree with you. Pointing out that they are subjective was not an attack but an observation. I just wished you would have a better time if you ever came back because it sounds to me like it wasn’t a good one.
I’m not looking for an argument, I was just commenting on the similarities of the cultures.
All subjective and I’m not going to disagree with you. I hope if you ever do find yourself back in the UK that you have a more enjoyable time.
Your comment is a bit weird. Like saying, “I would never go back to the US again, I have no interest in it whatsoever. Although, NYC on the otherhand…”
Surely then it would make more sense to say, “I wouldn’t go back to Florida” or, “I wouldn’t do back to England / Wales / Northern Ireland”
To take you one further, it’s like saying, “I’d never go to Europe again – except France. I like France.”
Makes more sense to specifically name the countries you wouldn’t visit because for all we know you’ve never been to Wales.
As somebody from the UK I understand your original comment but putting Germany on this list is interesting – I find German and UK culture to be very similar.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Good morning Mr. President! You wake up after a snap election in the US to find out that you are the new POTUS, what are the five first things that you focus on to reverse the current course of the US

But seriously, with difficulty. Lots of research.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you seen progressive people be discriminatory either intentionally or unintentionally and if so in what way?
2·13 days agoMisandry and Androphobia do not require ‘oppression’ to exist, in the same way that a man being eaten by a shark is still being eaten by a shark despite not being oppressed.
You can still be racist against ‘oppressors’ – you might have more of a reason for doing it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not racist.
Misandry means you dislike men for simply being men – not that men are oppressed.
Androphobia means you are afraid of men simply because they are men – not that men are oppressed.

31·14 days agoI would disagree that the people you are talking about are actually progressive. This narrative that men are oppressed / have it hardest usually comes from a right wing background.
“Misandry” and “Androphobia” do exist. But the problem they pose to society is questionable. There are many reasons why somebody would be androphobic and if a woman crossed the street because I was walking toward them I would not feel embarrassed or upset, I would understand.

7·14 days agoI would also say that the idea of changing the definition of racism to mean that you cannot be racist toward a white person is also inherently racist. You could say, “person X is oppressed by people Y, so I understand why they are racist” but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t racist, or that it’s okay.

2·14 days agoThis logic implies that you would be comfortable with an almost-fully transitioned trans male using the female toilets. They are 6’1", well built, bearded and indistinguishable from a cis male, but they still have a vagina and therefore since we are allocating toilets on genitalia, they must use the female toilets.
No it doesn’t make you a Nazi to say what you just said, but I do think you are worrying about things that really are not an issue.
Stopping trans females from using female toilets does not prevent straight cis men from sneaking inside to do something nefarious – you know, the demographic that is by far the most likely to sexaully assault someone?
I think it would be a relatively easy problem to solve, I think being one-shot on the highest difficulty is expected, but making every enemy a damage-sponge is both anti-fun and poor game design.
Just change the scaling - damage scaling is fine as-is, health scaling needs to be drastically reduced. If a barbarian gets one-shot on the easiest difficulty, having it take like, five shots whilst also increasing the risk should be fine.
