Republican ideology is hierarchical. There is the bottom layer of voters who votes for Republican politicians because of bigotry and hatred. Thenre there is the upper layer which consists of Republican politicians who uses bigotry to convincing ignorant morons to vote for them so they can grift in peace (and let their oligarch buddies grift alongside them).

So it depends on who you ask in this hierarchy. The bottom rung wants outgroups to suffer, because they think that means they will not suffer. The upper rung just wants to grift, and ignorant bigoted voters lets them do that. Undermining democracy, faking elections and disenfrachising political opponents of course lets them grift for much longer, so authoritarianism is a natural outcome of this.

There is no misinterpreation of the headline. Plenty of people are expecting current LLMs to do exactly that, and are working on implementing those right at this moment for all kinds of crap.

US sure has a shitty election system. It has nothing to do with democracy, but that is of course by design.

It is going to be his private SS, only beholden to Trump. He can use it exactly in any way he wants. Besides the disappearings going to massively increase, they will be an armed military force that he can let loose on protestors and anybody considered to be dissidents.

He has just secured 200 billion funding for his own private SS. 2024 already proved how easy it was for them to buy an election. He is not going anywhere.

Why would you not assume they are all Putin assets? They are all for sale to the highest bidder, and have been so for quite some time. It wasn’t Trump who went to Moscow on that 4th of July some years ago, but some of his fellow assets.

Yeah, I did attempt to watch it a couple of times when it was still airing new seasons, but those first couple of episodes were just so boring, I couldn’t get myself to continue.

And then of course it ended with the known flop and then I lost all interest in even attempting gain.

As a Scandinavian I am ok with this being a general opinion outside of Scandinavia (minus a couple of countries), because that just means there’s more for us.
