Well, a few things…

First and foremost, all authority is derived from a threat of force. Let’s just get that out of the way.

Second, the “agreement” not to use that force on our own citizens has been steadily blurred by an increasingly militarized police force. What we’ve been seeing in terms of civil unrest in this country is the inevitable result of that. The police in this country have turned themselves into an occupying force.

Third, conservative media has been gradually instilling a desire for violence in conservative culture. They’ve been doing this for decades. They’ve been playing the same familiar tropes that enable cultures to engage in the practice of othering, which makes them ambivalent to the idea of violence being inflicted on people outside of their cultural identity.

Lastly, Trump doesn’t give a shit about this, and neither do conservative representatives. Outright flagrant dishonesty is a pillar of cultural conservatism. Never believe what they are saying. They have a set of rules and protections that they apply to others, and an entirely different set that they apply to everyone else.

All the blue states should do this. Shake off the conservative parasites.

If you happen to be in a minority that is targeted by american conservatives, you take it as a sign that it’s time to arm yourselves.

I’d really love to believe the narrative that the widespread adoption of LLMs will lead to a renaissance of technological breakthroughs, but deep down I know that it’s ultimately going to amplify and enable the absolute worst of what humanity has to offer.

Right or wrong is rarely as binary as you seem to be imagining. It’s a spectrum. Alignment with reality is contingent upon a habit of seeking better information. If better information comes along, any intellectually healthy person should be willing to accept it and integrate it into their understanding of the world.

Also - cultivate a habit of knowing that it’s ok to be wrong. Your beliefs don’t define you as much as HOW you choose to shape your beliefs.

We have pattern-seeking brains that instinctually crave a sense of certainty that rarely exists in reality. We always have to be aware of that. We also live in a society that unfortunately reinforces this tendency.

Don’t strive to be “right.” Strive to be well-informed.

Asymmetric warfare never intends to aim for a conventional peer to peer engagement with a far superior force. We’re not talking about pitched open battles here. We’re not talking about occupying territory or capturing objectives.

“What happens” is probably a lot of propaganda from the fascist media outlets. They’ll view it as a justification for increased political violence on their part. Probably as a pretext for martial law and the suspension or posse comitatus. Full blown military occupation.

If that happens, we’ll effectively be in a state of open civil war anyway. So it won’t really matter.

That isn’t a dumb question. It’s a correct observation.

They’re about as fetishized as cuckolding is in right wing circles. The way those dorks toss that term around tells me enough to know that a lot of them are harboring a deep-seated desire to watch some dude rail their wives like they never could.

This is what the democratic party has to learn. Your sister is a sizable representation of the electorate. They have no goddamn idea how anything works. They voted purely based on vibes. You have to capture the terminally unengaged and uninformed voters if you want to be able to stay in power.

Yes. They missed the part where they specifically and repeatedly said they were going to do this. Because American voters evidently have the cognitive skills of a fucking sea sponge.

A good portion of the 2A fetishists in this country love jackbooted authoritarianism as long as it’s aimed at the correct demographic.

They love the fantasy of being a plucky revolutionary, but in reality they are the ones helping the boot come down.
