16·2 years agoNot knocking the technology at all, it really can be life-changing for people with Parkinson’s disease. But it’s been around for a while, it was approved in the US by the FDA in the late 90s. A chip is not implanted, but rather electrodes in the brain that connect to the controller elsewhere.
Source: I’m an anesthesiologist who has done the anesthesia for this surgery multiple times, including this morning.



Cute and sweet and all, and I’m glad she’s okay. Really. But I’m not sure that “we couldn’t find our child for a few hours” is news-worthy.
