It’s because they want this. Microsoft Recall I am sure on a domain will be expanded upon to allow for auto capturing screenshots that can be parsed with AI to generate statistics of who is “working”. Without the legal issue of saying “we don’t install monitoring software”.

Microsoft will slap a license on that bad boy and businesses will eat it up to use against employees they want to terminate for cause anyway because they slipped up viewing a video from manager who sent them a cat video to watch that is less than 30 seconds long.

The other is how businesses will be crying when the feds just use it against them for finding fraud in business because they never bought the “enterprise” license that limits sharing and that doesn’t funnel everything to Microsoft anyway.

People are just getting the consequences of their actions or inaction. My empathy bucket for all of this has broken and I don’t plan on fixing it anymore either.

Yes but it all depends on your use case. If you travel a lot for work that involves some mountain passes or states with low EV adoption due to politics you are gonna have a rough time or be very limited in your options.

If your use case is less than 200 miles a day and charging infrastructure is built up in your area then you are all set.

Lets install adaptive headlights to stop blinding people or allowing manufacturers to install chrome accents on the rear of a vehicle to again stop blinding people or even just maybe make a smaller truck that isn’t lifting ego and instead actual building materials.

I have been using a fork of Firefox called Floorp and so far pretty happy with it. Chrome and any variant of it has essentially a monopoly on the browser and Firefox will just follow what Google says anyway so I wouldn’t recommend native firefox. It would be nice if Safari(WebKit) was more stable and available as an alternative.

Yup and Cubans do this especially in South Florida. The funniest part is when all the cheap labor started to leave the state and all the old condo buildings they had their grandparents in are being kicked out due to special assessments. Climate change affects the entire planet. I was simply pointing the most obvious example. What happened in west NC is tragic but this is the new reality we face and the entire south and eastern coast line requires a rethink of how we insure and more importantly how we build in the future.

Insurance was always a last case resort and not submitting claims because of a paint chip. Now that climate change is showing its face and you built along a beach which everyone has warned you about and needs constant replenishing. Sorry if I am having a little trouble finding some empathy here.
