My first calculus class was in 2018 or 2019 and before they taught us any of the derivative rules they showed us the first principles derivation, so the fact that they just skipped right to the shortcuts for you is wack. My parents are constantly pushing me to own a car.

I have a license because it is a convenient all-in-one piece of ID. I abstain from car ownership because cars fucking suck. They’re expensive to buy, expensive to insure, expensive to maintain, expensive to run, expensive to drive, and you can’t even use your phone* while going places. Car ownership is just overall a bad deal. I’m much happier taking public transit, even if it sucks ass and is twice as slow to get anywhere.

I can honestly say that I can only tell apart differences of 1 °F in the context of pools. With air temperature there’s humidity, wind, and sunlight that all contribute to the experienced temperature in ways that can make two 68 degree days feel entirely different.
