Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance? [my bold]
Are you. Right at the moment you are checking the box, are you an unlawful user …?
Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants.
Are you … addicted to … any … stimulant … ?
Our low end construction grade oven was just like this one. When we finally had to replace it … same thing.
Nah, that’s not Samsung, that’s generic GE/Whirlpool/whatever.
That is even more likely. I failed to get my head outside of the scenario as presented.
The odds that all of those are true at the same time are extremely low:
- Check engine
- Check brakes
- Low washer fluid
- Low fuel
- Low tire pressure
More likely, this is a short in the gauge cluster or its wiring, or a bad ECU (possibly some other module depending on the car).
Definitely a generational thing. I’m “of a certain age”, and I have never made a folder called “homework”.

The world is shifting quickly away from “almost everyone adheres to gender norms” to “what’s wrong with people being perceived the way they’d like to be?”
It’s about individual expression of self. The bits and bobs that people have under their clothes may have zero correlation with what their traditionally recognized appearance is.
If someone is lost or a threat, it makes more sense to look for them based on how they present themselves in public, and not how they look naked. (Which can be ambiguous, too.)
Your recognizing your own confusion is a good thing. It means that you are aware that there are still things you need to learn. You’re all right.

Conventional? God dammit, I fucking did it again.

“I was the cockroach all along?”
When someone disagrees with you, you have the opportunity to more clearly define what you think. This might mean changing your mind to a greater or lesser degree; it could mean understanding more completely why you hold the view you already have. If the votes show that a lot of people disagree with you, well, conventional wisdom is often enough not very wise.
In my experience, fediverse people have been more reasonable than reddit people - but you’re going to find petulant children on any public forum.
