Was I ever in denial that the USA likes to play bully and world police? Let’s not forget our history about the rest of the Western nations, they’re hardly angels themselves. We’re all the same people anyways. Actually that reminds me of a good ole George Carlin quote, “We come from that northern European, basically the northern European genes, the blue eyes. Those blue eyes. Boy everybody in the world learned real quick, didn’t they? When those blue eyes sail out of the north, you better nail everything down motherfucker.”

Are people surprised? Republicans are war hawks even more so than the Libs.

And most of the folks here keep telling us we don’t need guns for safety 🙄

Oh please, don’t give me that crap. EU countries have been dabbling in fascism at least as much as America. Viktor Orbán, Karol Nawrocki, the rise of the AfD party in Germany, Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party in France. These folks didn’t come into power because of American voters, y’all voted for them. These folks aren’t American they’re your own homegrown fascists. The polls are from your own people not Americans. So don’t scapegoat us because you can’t accept the EU has a hard-on for fascism ATM.

It’s the hate that’s the problem! You don’t fix a problem without addressing the ROOT cause. Hate is the root cause!

Oh those poor EU countries so helpless to defend themselves from media and ideas. Children are products of their environment. They weren’t raised in the US. If it’s American media that’s “poisoned” the youth, maybe those kid’s parents should pay more attention to their media diets?

Who’d be dumb enough to take that bet?

We’re in a civil war, but it’s not just in LA and not fought with violence. We’ve been in a heightened ideological civil war for at least 10 years now. News flash, the left is losing.

Keep fighting the good fight. We must change the way the left looks at guns or we’re a doomed ideology. Guns are not the problem, mental health is.

🤣 I’m typically on the side of the EU on stuff like this, but damn. The US is catching strays. How in the hell is it our(US) fault that EU kids are reflecting their surroundings? Right-wing fascism and violence have been trending upward for a while, the US is far from the only country dealing with it.

Lol, the guns are for my defense not yours. We’re not nearly organized enough for me to support others besides my friends and family. I was offering advice as to why you should own them to protect your loved ones, but whatever. It makes no difference to me if you support freedom of defense or not. You’re an adult and you can weigh the risks and rewards. Just saying that this socialist won’t vote for candidates that would strip the proletariat of their means of defense. That seems antithetical to our cause.

IDK, in this time where federal goons are going around roughing up civilians and even politicians so blatantly, I wouldn’t want to be caught with my pants down. Things aren’t exactly primed for anti-gun folks in the zeitgeist.

I’m no expert, but I’ve been around conservatives my whole life. Even the moderate ones are not moving one iota on guns. Unless they suffer directly they won’t even flinch on guns. IMO Dems should drop guns on their priority list until this Trump thing is long past us, if we’re so lucky.

I don’t know why you had to insult me for stating my opinions. Surely you know that’s not an effective method to change an opinion. Hopefully those insults will save you when some gun-toting lunatic breaks in at night.

I’m all too familiar with shooting statistics. I still think the threat from the conservatives outweighs becoming the villain that destroys the left. Firearms restrictions are the number 1 reason Dems poll so low in many rural areas.

They sure can. I agree wholeheartedly. Proper etiquette is to downvote things that don’t add to the conversation or are factually wrong.

Maybe consider that it’s that very reason why guns are so important. You don’t see that the right are being groomed to hate and despise us to a violent degree? How are you going to defend yourself when some right-wing nut job busts into your home with full combat gear and an AR-15?

If the world was perfect I’d agree weapons have no place in society, but we’re very very far from a perfect world. If this giant rift in American society that has both sides violent towards each other hasn’t changed your mind on firearms IDK what to tell ya.

I get that he’s been through a terrible event, but that’s all the more reason to understand why guns are so important. We’re always going to live in fear of the right because they embrace guns and OWN gun culture. Guns, you know the thing that’s designed to KILL. We’re legitimately and utterly fucked if/when the right turns on us. Who are we going to turn to when lefties are getting slaughtered in the streets?

IMO It’s this anti-gun policy policy that is the main detriment to left ideology in America. I get anti-gun can fly in other Western nations, but not in ours.
