The only person I know who supports these actions is literally known around my neighborhood as crazy Mike, because he’s crazy. He also openly admits he’s hypocritical, as he will condemn an action democrats do, but praise the same actions if they’re done by republicans. He knows he’s hypocritical but doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Like I said he’s crazy.

Why people ever visit that place as a vacation spot is so bizarre to me. I live nearby and it is a plague on the Carolina’s. Either go north to Wilmington or go south to Charleston. Do not go to Dirty Myrtle you might not come back, Horry county has been ranked as the most dangerous county in the state for decades.

Some online searching later and a talk with a therapist, and I don’t talk with my parents anymore. It’s better that way.

Do you follow any callendars other than gregorian?5·3 months agoIn theory, however the ability to break up the year into smaller chunks is very handy for our monkey brains. Small number easy, big number hard.

In order to cool them off the heat is vented outside and the warm moist air meets with the cool dry air and condensates into droplets that we see as steam. Same affect as breathing out on a cold day, you’re not creating steam but it looks that way because the warm moist air from your breath is condensing in the cool dry air.
I am all for a period of time, I do not think it should be at the death of the artist but a set time from creation date. Say 10-15 years, gives the artist time to make their money, while not locking the creativity behind money.

The US doesn’t do military parades. George Orwell said it best in 1941, “Why is the goose-step not used in England? There are, heaven knows, plenty of army officers who would be only too glad to introduce some such thing. It is not used because the people in the street would laugh. Beyond a certain point, military display is only possible in countries where the common people dare not laugh at the army.”

Sequentialsilence@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why hasn't video quality improved much over the past ten years?4·4 months agoIt’s cyclical, years ago, video quality improved dramatically, and then stagnated for almost 40 years as prices fell until it was economical for video quality to improve again. We likely won’t see a meaningful improvement for another 15-20 years, then prices will come down and then we’ll see another improvement.
Sequentialsilence@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How good are you at your hobbies?31·4 months agoI used to do my hobby as a full time job, I realized I didn’t enjoy it as much when it was my job so I switched careers so I could still enjoy it.
If I wasn’t locked into this contract with my house I would be applying for work programs in New Zealand on my way to citizenship. When Trump was elected, the first thought that went through my head was, I don’t like winter, so Canada and the Nordics are out. Europe is 0-2 for getting destroyed in World Wars and WW3 is heating up. Africa has its own problems right now, as does South America, and regardless of where you go in Asia it’s not looking good for WW3. So options were Central America or Oceania. I know passable amounts of Spanish, and lived in Central America for a while and I would definitely be OK going back. But if I’m going to move somewhere might as well be somewhere new.
