In the US we went common core. That means the school board decides the courses at the beginning of the year, and they set tests designed to ensure the students are learning. But there are two issues. 1. The students are not being taught. Teachers dont get paid enough to care nor provide learning materials, so they just have yhe students read the textbook and do homework until the test. This means students are not learning critical thinking or the material, they merely memorize this weeks material long enough to pass the test. 2. The tests are poorly designed. As I hinted at with point 1, the tests merely ensure that you have memorized this weeks material. They do not and are not designed to ensure that you actually learn.

These issues are by design, not by accident. Teachers pay rates have stagnated along with the rest of the working class, with the idea being to slowly give the working class less and less propetional buying power and therefore economic control. In addition, edicating your populace runs directly contradictory to what the current reigning faction wants. An educated populace is harder to lie to.

The secret here is insulation and removing air flow. With 100% perfect insulation(impossible, but we can get closeish), any amount of heat generation will eventually heat the room, smaller room heats faster. With no air flow, the air cant efficiently transfer heat and you dont even need insulation. As long as you generate more heat than the air can transfer, the room heats up. That one doesnt really work that way though, because hot air generates it own air currents which then raises the thermal transfer of the air. But the idea still stands, you just… do actually require insulation in the real world.

At least in the US, secondary systems are mandatory, as are inspections. I would have to imagine those are required, but werent getting done.

I spent a couple minutes searching and i cant find anything about that. That would be some pretty cool lore and go a ways to explain why humans are compatable with so many species. I did find some sources that state that humans were their preferred slaves, and that they massively helped humanity by taking their slaves all across the galaxy during a time when the infinite empire was the only group to have hyperdrive tech. Humans were working to colonise their solar system and the surrounding areas when we got conquered by the rakatans. It is worth noting that coruscant is the cannonical home world of humans in star wars, which means the rakatans at one point conquered coruscant. It’s also worth noting that “Earth” does exist in legends lore, han solo goes to Earth and i think he fights dinosaurs, i cant remember.

As for gathering genetic data from the lesser races, I do not recall. They wanted to wipe out all other races afair so i dont see why they would want to keep their dna around, and from the rakatans i remember, their race would rather die than intentionally infuse themselves with the lesser races dna. They did conquer huge swaths of the galaxy and kept most everything theyd find as slaves, but those were viewed as highly expendable, not even worth treating decently enough that they survive the year.

It does mention that the cause of their collapse was dark side degredation though so ngl kinda proud i remembered that. That page is missing a ton of info on the rakatans though, so you could very well be correct and that page simply doesnt mention it.
