have you ever rode a bus with the phone in the hand that needed to break suddenly?
have you ever used your phone while in bed?
Computers and the internet gave you freedom. Trusted Computing would take your freedom.

have you ever rode a bus with the phone in the hand that needed to break suddenly?
have you ever used your phone while in bed?
oh you certainly should. like when the bus is in motion. or when you are not standing but you are horizontally. in those situations your smart way of holding the phone does not really work out
you don’t need a seatbelt, just don’t crash
“properly” wth
sometimes you are not standing when holding the phone.
sometimes you are also at a high place and you (or others at least) grip your phone more to make sure it does not fall
The design has been greatly modernized, with the screen bezels being significantly narrower than on the Fairphone 5,
no thanks, sometimes it’s already too easy to touch the screen when gripping the phone with my palm
I so much hate fashion in tech.
there are so many password managers, but why would anyone use something other than keepass dx?
sure have a few alternatives, but there are many now with questionable security, that uses as obscure format even. this is a bit like all the weekend music players
you can’t remove the Google search bar from the Pixel launcher is still crazy to me.
yeah that’s crazy, but it’s relatively easy to fix compared to deep rooted bloat and whatnot in the system. the pixels even have good support for some alt ROMs, that can’t be told about most samsungs, so you are basically forced to use their software
xiaomi doesn’t allow third party launchers anymore?? what a shitty change. since when is that?
also, I would rather have “subpar” hardware and a decent OS than trendy hardware and all the bloat and datamining of the world. but that honestly excludes most phones.
they could probably just extend it with the bits that google requires for corporate approval, and release that as a fork, while still contributing to the development of base graphene os.
I mean they don’t need to use plain graphene, a partnership could make things easier for both parties by avoiding needless duplication of efforts.
why would you choose samsung, of all?
it seems this one doesn’t have a camera! and it works through USB-C, which can be good or bad, but it seems maybe you can also just plug into your laptop in your backpack and that’s still better than always packing up your laptop when walking. it has mics and speakers built in too.
it claims to also have a 3D mode, and some 3D features to pin apps to space, but no idea how that works. maybe it can pin the display in itself, not individual apps?
edit: it seems that only works with their own weird phone brand
now the question is if there are AR glasses that strictly don’t have any cameras. if there are, I’m interested
oh no, why do we too need to conflate search with AI??
and registration to an event on zoom? zoom.us especially?? wtf
or possibly something else, but definetly not atproto as it stands
I was like that. then everything started to become uglier and uglier. and I’m not even nearly old.
that’s not the only feature of v2. it also hels a lot with swarm merging (which with v1 only biglybt implemented), and it has updatable torrents. it also stores torrent information more efficiently and the incoming pidces can be verified immediately. afaik today torrent clients don’t verify downloaded torrents by default. qbittorent has an option, default off, to verify after a torrent completed. this is slow because everything needs to be read again from disk. I’m not totally sure about this, but I think a malicious peer could be sending crafted pieces that contain something else and you wouldn’t know it.

I was confused too, but it’s on by default, and when it’s icon is blue
what is P2P? I thought that’s the category the others fit into
it both sounds horrifying, and fantastic.
I wish they wouldn’t have had to try figuring that out in these circumstances
