Loved the original, but US remake has just all the corners filed and padded.

It was nice to have some degree of hope for nearly a year. So I guess, thanks for at least giving it a serious attempt Ross.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. An absolute gem from Dontnod that plays like a double-A god of war with superb writing and voice performances.
Gives me the same vibes as Claire Obscure, but in a less flashy, more grounded world of early colonial America
He also downplayed the risk of electing Trump (first time around) with a “what’s the worst that could happen” attitude. I also can’t stand his misogynist attitude towards women “what could Michelle Obama teach us? How to tell if a dick smells presidential?”
To me that’s an attitude catering directly to the alt-right, incel crowd.
Actor/Comedian Bill Burr. I always found his comedy to be a “gateway drug” to right wing radicalization.
I never used game pass, sorry. Only makes sense they have been hiking it for a while.
Of course it is. First of many. The price will keep rising, since currently Microsoft is losing money on it. The number of games will decrease, the price will keep going up, the users will cancel, rinse and repeat.
It truly is Netflix for gaming.
I keep wanting to love Hades but keep bouncing off it. It has all characteristics of what is want - great art, good story, solid voice acting… I think I am not into the combat mechanics though. Diablo, at least I would enjoy until I finished all the story and quests…
Blue Prince is an awesome game, but it confirmed for me that I can’t stand roguelikes. Any game that’s based on repetitive loop where you do the same thing over and over for small progress is just not my jam. That includes multiplayer grindathons, MMOs and roguelikes/lites.
I guess as I got older, time became more and more of a previous commodity and feeling like I’m not moving forward in an experience kills it for me.
Nothing against the game. Just not for me.
About Atomic Heart - a Russian game from a developer tied to Gazprom and Putin’s oligarch buddies.
This shit should be embargoed, not celebrated.
This game (and the box spinoff) amaze me in just how well Russian propaganda machine is tuned into an average American gamer. Show them some ass, give them a definitely anti-woke attitude and they will sing praises defending it forever. Meanwhile under the surface the games are all like “see, Soviet Russia is/was actually kinda cool, amirite?”
Oh yes, I got all preachy and forgot to actually comment on your content :)
CRUNCHY!
The game looks like a blast, but seeing how Bethesda treated Mick Gordon who did music for the previous two, their general behavior and the fact the whole thing is owned by Microsoft… I just can’t in good conscience give them any money or time/attention.
It’s that an iPhone keyboard? My android does not seem to have an em dash easily accessed. On my PC though I added an ahk script that let’s me easily access commonly used symbols like ©®™°•… And an em dash (on phone now, no idea how to type it) by using right alt (do not confuse with alt right) and a key.
The whole em dash argument is bullshit propagated by LinkedIn lunatics with zero knowledge of AI, writing or typography.
Different types of dashes/hyphens have different uses. People who take care of their copy and understand the nuances of punctuation use em dashes regularly. People who are in a rush, typing on phones or simply who don’t know any better, put the same en dash everywhere.
Em dashes is one of the things that LLMs actually do right for a change. Calling text with em dashes weird, unnatural or ai generated is like making fun of someone for using proper grammar or hygiene.
For others looking, it’s https://codingfont.com/ Singular, not plural fonts
Pay to win what? Is there a game yet?
That “finite and rivalrous” is a definition that sprung up quite recently and I don’t know if I agree with it. How would one “steal a kiss” if it was a finite resource. Also while stealing is not always “punishable by law”, it can still be classified as wrongdoing. As an artist I find all forms of plagiarism to equate to stealing and while they won’t land you behind bars, they may get you a status of persona non grata with other creatives.
Thanks! Would have missed it otherwise.
