We almost need a non-partisan judiciary oversight board that appoints supreme court justices and has the authority to remove them given concrete and well-defined rules to prevent them from acting against the public and judicial precedent.

If there were toll roads in my state it’d be a no brainer.
This is my favorite recipe, the cheddar cheese soup kicks it up a notch.

Plastic burns off long before the aluminum melts. The residue might contaminate the aluminum but there are ways to remove that in the melt.

Another JS movie in that category is The Transporter. Totally a B action movie but the premise is unique, the fight scenes are clever (the oil fight!), and the electronic music score is très magnifique. The love aspect, however, is terribly written and cringey. Crank did that part better, and Amy Smart is hilarious.

Pulptastic@midwest.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Whatever happened to cheap eReaders? – Terence Eden’s BlogEnglish2·18 days agoYeah the iPad mini is the only one I’ve found that doesn’t suck. I wish Android would offer something decent in 8” but they’re all made to be bottom barrel with extremely low end hardware.
Pulptastic@midwest.socialto Technology@lemmy.world•Whatever happened to cheap eReaders? – Terence Eden’s BlogEnglish10·18 days agoThe overpriced nature of subscription services is not a good reason to justify paying more for relatively inexpensive hardware. The fact that you can buy new ereaders for $100 suggests that the $400 models are vastly overpriced. Companies are feature-creeping them so they can increase the price.

Whoops, now everyone thinks my junk doesn’t work.
I do say that to her but it is in the context of her stealing the covers.

Pulptastic@midwest.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are infidelities really that common?English3·1 month agoThat’s interesting. I wonder how much religion plays into it. My marriage is monogamous but we are both open to each other about attractions outside the marriage. It is OK to be turned on by someone else or some other situation, and we can use that together. It also helps that we both don’t generally like other people; we have a close knit group of friends but most folks we meet outside that are obnoxious and gross.
Pulptastic@midwest.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was the biggest pill you've had to swallow about your own self or habits?English1·1 month agoI’ve basically learned that drinking sucks. A long time ago I would drink 1 beer a day, 2-3 on weekends. A few years later I cut it down to 1 a day. A few years after that I cut to 3 a week. This year I do 1 occasionally. When I have that 1 I sleep like crap, my stress score is higher, I gain weight and feel bloated, and it’s just not worth the buzz. I am considering a full quit, or cut back to 4 a year. I have quite the liquor cabinet, lots of good stuff, but basically stopped drinking it.
I have USB cables twice as old as your blanket, probably even some I’ve never used.
