It’s nice to see more serious innovations in this sector now. One of those things that definitely feels like the future I envisioned as a child.

Felt like the deaths were real but the “asshole” side of things was made up so the audience wouldn’t feel so bad. Like a bully getting hit by a random tire passing by. You wouldn’t feel as bad about the death because the guy was being a douche to someone moments before he got hit but in actuality, it was just a random person getting hit by a tire and they weren’t being douchey moments before the hit.

Was that the case for your friends? Did the show embellish on the details to make them look worse than they actually were?

Ubisoft solidified my position.

I pay for Ghost Recon Wildlands. I play the game a lot, rack up hundreds of hours. I go to a location that doesn’t have internet access available and am told I need to go online to play single player campaign. Ubisoft Connect says I need to be online to play the game. Try putting it into Offline mode and it still says I need to be online to activate a game I have paid for years ago and put hundreds of hours into. I use my shitty mobile phone 2G whatever speed to email Ubisoft support about the issue. Ubisoft support tells me to put the Ubisoft client into offline mode.

…do you know who doesn’t have this issue? People who pirate the game.

If I ever play another Ubisoft game, it will be pirated.

I’m in a similar boat. I have the password and I even have access to the recovery email, but because I have an old phone number, I’m locked out. It’s infuriating because I have a video I want to delete but can’t access anymore.

“Prairie dogging it” always makes me chuckle when I do a comparison between the two mental images.

I flew Delta last year and got their free WiFi when I signed up for an account with them. Think it was for a loyalty program for every flight I flew with them and one of the perks was free WiFi.

I used it for streaming from my Plex server at home and watched 1984 and some other movies on my phone on the flight and don’t remember encountering any buffering or other issues the whole time. Was pleasantly surprised and grateful for that so I didn’t have to use their movie selection.

Though I do have to say they had a pretty good free selection to choose from. I remember even TV shows which I thought was weird like The Sopranos was on there. I just preferred choosing from my own library and continuing where I left off on my server.

Nah, time to report them for violating the law.

What does it taste like if you had to compare it to something else?

Same thing I was thinking. I’ve seen the drone videos but it always seems to be Ukrainian soldiers using DJI Mavic drones. I can’t recall Russia using them and with their budget, I’m sure they have specialized drones.

All this does is hurt Ukraine.

No, I’m still salty they decided we should be on camera for meetings all of a sudden at my job. It’s so pointless and stupid to force us into. Thankfully it hasn’t been strictly enforced but most of us try to comply some of the times. Some mornings I’m too damned tired and don’t want to be seen yawning a bunch or like how it really is, that I literally rolled out of bed a few minutes ago to start my shift.

When I first came to this job, I remember joining a meeting and turned on my camera for someone to tell me “we don’t do that here” and it felt great to not have that stupid corporate pressure for something so trivial at the time.

I can understand wanting to make sure your employees are who they say they are and ensuring they are doing the job they are being paid to do. On the second part, that should be evident by the fact their work is being done. A camera wouldn’t change it for the lazy employees. They would find ways to appear busy on camera and micro managers would find a new way to micro manage people again. On the former, this would be evident with individual meetings on an ongoing basis between employee and direct supervisor.

Neither are necessarily solved by the constant use of a camera, at least where I work.

I suppose there are some jobs where a camera would be beneficial. We all came here with the idea of police officers which makes sense as a precaution for both the cop and the public they work with. (It should) keep everyone accountable and ensure things are being done as they should. But we see even that isn’t necessarily happening. We still get the “oops my camera conveniently tuned itself off during the time they claimed I abused their rights :( ”

Sysprep on the same image, apparently. Can only be done a few times and any more than the max and it fails, according to my coworker who taught me how to use this thing.

Really weird utility in Windows but I’m guessing it’s done to prevent people from pirating the OS or something.

Can’t argue with them there. Adobe is not trustworthy.

Strangely enough, ISO is fine. Same with the generated mkv file. It seems the issue was when I uploaded to Plex. I didn’t think to check the file that was created, now this is making me wonder where I went wrong.

I just tried using this last night for the first time on some indie movie from the early 2000’s. Surely no type of hard DRM to crack.

But when I finished, the movie was very pixelated.

I converted DVD to ISO file and then the app converted the ISO to mkv file all using default settings. Is that okay or should I have changed some of the settings?
