That is “classic” bigotry, if you will. Systemic bigotry does not need these feelings, as you thoughts on the subject mean nothing to those who are the targets of the bigotry, as buying things that enrich their persecutors, and actively donating to those people ideologically, bears no significant difference to the persecuted, in any practical manner. Also, if it is something I can practically avoid, living in the world I was born into, then I do. Entertainment is like the poster child of things you can choose to avoid. Suggesting people live an impossibility does no good, but that is not what is happening with people telling people to drop JK Rowling’s IP.
You know systemic bigotry needs not intent, or context, from the individual, right? You seem to be arguing that your personal lack of hatred towards a group, and lack of direct harm, means your actions can’t be bigoted. And no, being forced to pay taxes is not the same as choosing to buy into something funding bigotry.
18 US Code 1751 says that assassination of political officials can be tried in federal court
Yeah, 43 here, went to school with a kid who’s parents must have been from the 19th century, and named him Gaylord. Holy shit, I left that school after middle school, but I would honestly not be surprised if he killed himself.
it has been a long time, but I believe they are actually vegetable oil emulsion, and oils, not real butter
Do the ashes of friends, and family count?
I said we should use policing, I guess cops aren’t a valid answer then.
The cops seem to be doing such a bang up job in preventing it, we should probably just apply more police
oh boy would this trigger his delusions
You can call anything terrorism at this point.
you know, except a white, right wing, man, who commits mass murder, for ideological reasons
Those are lone wolves, and tragically mentally ill, of course
I wasn’t correcting you, or saying otherwise. Just condensed version of what you said, and adding that it just makes the whole idea flawed from the outset.
Yeah kids are often off, by a good amount, but I haven’t really seen one multiple decades out of whack with reality. Maybe toddlers, but these kids are 7. Now they probably would say 40 is old, but wouldn’t ascribe attributes to a 40 year old they see in actual elderly people.
Might be the country, but I am in the US, and we are supposed to be stupid, especially the current generation of brain rotten children, so I don’t know.
The changes they pick up on are responses to a lot of different things, not just lying, so even the premise is fatally flawed.
Yeah, I am 43 and while I have some very fine lines on my forehead, and near my eyes, you can’t really see them unless you are like within 2 feet of me, or closer. And I have a long history with smoking and drug use. Also I am white, very white, not quite ginger ghost white, but not too far off. Genetics play a very strong role in this, and, at least from my perspective as someone who smoked for 28 years, and did hard drugs for 17, staying out of the sun. I have only really been doing anything close to a routine skin care regimen in like the last 5 years. I have also been homeless. So… yeah, not only do I believe you, I know people just like you. Hell, I probably would have much smoother skin, with no lines, if it wasn’t for how bad I treated myself.
Yeah, the kids under ten that are in my life know how old their parents are, and can make reasonable assessments of the age of other adults from that. They would never think someone who is 40 looks more like someone who is in their 60s or 70s.
Isolation of individuals and the growing loss of ownership of, well, everything.
I couldn’t possibly tell you where it started, or every factor, but in the 90s there was a BIG push, in the msm, to have “both sides” opinions on everything. This was pushed by everyone, but championed by Fox. This is when I started to see people with brain dead takes, being taken as seriously, on msm, as people who have been working/studying the topic for decades. I always associated the start of this bullshit with this movement. This is where I first really started to see the “my ignorant opinion is as legitimate as your professional expertise” garbage being mainstreamed.
a little while back YT rebalanced their algorithm to give more weight to people with less that like 100k or something subs. Since then, I have been getting a LOT more suggestions for channels with anywhere from like single digit subs, to like 25k. Get a couple a day now. Some of it is really strange.
His middle name was normal, I honestly don’t remember exactly what it was, because we barely ever spoke to each other. The only reason I knew the kid even existed was because his name was Gaylord. Jacob, maybe? Something like that.
