Is there such a thing? As far as I’m aware, there is no way to prevent CTE with the current rules and style of American football. There’s just too much repeated energy transfer.
This just starts the war directly between civilians and ICE, and it still doesn’t address the underlying problem, which is that - masked or not - ICE agents are taking people off the streets and shipping them overseas to die, all without any oversight. The due process is still skipped over entirely. They might take the masks off, but the concentration camps will keep growing.
At the very least, they need to ban ICE agents from detaining anyone without a judicial warrant. These “administrative” warrants and blatantly racist stop-and-frisk ambushes need to stop.

Any state with any hope left of resisting the wave of fascism needs to outlaw ICE from having any jurisdiction within their borders. ICE detaining a human should be litigated and prosecuted as a kidnapping, because that’s exactly what it is. “It’ll start a war,” you might say. No it fucking won’t. It will either prevent a war, or the war has already started.
He demanded to see a warrant for the person he was escorting, which these masked-up unidentified thugs refused to provide until after they started detaining him. Then they kept flashing the “warrant” in his face like a TV con man flashing a fake badge, as if it even mattered at that point.

It’s insane this got upvotes. You would be insane to take that job. Most mayors don’t have access to either, because either would cost a lot of money. Far more money than you’re imagining, and certainly more money than your average town hall could get access to. Most American towns wouldn’t be able to afford this.
Defense is unbelievably more difficult than you suggest. Defense requires constant readiness and paranoia, every single day. Offense requires a few minutes of aggression, once.

Any security would know what they’re up against, and the cartel would know the security’s there. Which means you’re not going to find just two good guards. If you don’t have a lot of money, you either have whatever local police you can get, or you maybe hire two wannabes who think an assault rifle is all you need to lock down a town hall. But they take days off. Or they take bribes.
Real security against the cartels would easily be millions of dollars over the course of the mayor’s time in office. Any security guard worth a damn isn’t going to risk their lives virtually alone looking out windows, that’s a death sentence.

Absolutely. Wealth isn’t competence, and too much of it fundamentally leads to a physical and psychological disconnect with other humans. Generational wealth creates sheltered, twisted perspectives in youth who have enough money and influence to just fail upward their entire lives.
“New” wealth creates egocentric narcissists who believe they “earned” their position. “If everyone else just does what I did, they’d be wealthy like me. If they don’t do what I did, they must not be as smart or hard-working as me.”
Really all of meritocracy is just survivorship bias, and countless people are smarter and more hard-working, just significantly less lucky. Once someone has enough capital that it starts generating more wealth on its own - in excess of their living expenses even without a salary - life just becomes a game to them, and they start trying to figure out how to “earn” more points.
I normally wouldn’t indulge or engage like that, because trolls and LLM’s are so common and even in good faith it can be a complete waste of time. But I wasn’t doing anything else productive, and I honestly think they were genuine if only because of how odd the exchange was.
That’s fine, gender is not a choice. The point is that what you’re describing is not her type of hate. Her type of hate is hatred against people for what they are, not the media they consume.
They can’t stop being transgender, but she wants them to. So she hates them in such a way that she does not want them to exist. This is why it can be so offensive to compare hatred against fans of a certain type of media, to hatred against transgender people.
Because of people who share her views and write the laws that she helps lobby for against gender expression and gender-affirming treatment, some of those people stop existing.
Suicide is an epidemic, especially among transgender people. Gender-affirming treatment literally reduces the rate of teenage suicide, and political opposition to gender affirming treatment therefore increases the rate of teenage suicide.
I understand that some people may say terrible things like “walk into the sea,” and they’re wrong to do so. And it’s wrong to paint an entire community by what those people do - many who probably aren’t actually trans themselves.
But she invests time and money into actually causing people to commit suicide.
