As creepy and macabre as it is, I’d probably like to go there. This tidbit of history was my first introduction to the true evil of peer pressure / mass hysteria / whatever the hell this was called. To think that people willingly chose this path was and is very creepy to me. (I know not every dead person there did it willingly, but enough did.)

No just a girl who was in a friend group that mingled with my friend group occasionally. We had drunkenly hooked up a couple of times previously, but on this occasion we were sober and happened to be sitting together on a random afternoon in university.

I mostly said it to be funny when she said she was bored. I guess she really was bored.

Me: “Wanna have sex?”

Her: “No”

Me: “C’mon, it’ll be over before you know it, and you’ll barely feel a thing.”

Her:”Ok, let’s go.”

Me:”Wait… What?”

This is just this generation crop circles. Nothing more.

I am almost 50 years old. I have spent my life staring at the night sky. Pretty much nightly I will spend up to an hour just looking up. I’m not an astronomer, just a dreamer.

I have never seen anything that was unexplainable. I have seen things I wasn’t quite sure what they were in the moment, notably the Starlink satellites, but never something that made me think it was a UFO/UAP.

Granted I’m a small town Canadian boy so perhaps the aliens don’t give a shit about me or my geographical region, but surely I’d have seen something by now.

I will note that the uptick in “sightings” have coincided nicely with the increased availability of hobbies drones.

I don’t know the physics behind it, or if it’s even true (could just be a placebo effect), but if you scrunch the paper there is less streaking on the clean up.

Sure. But the folks who put the knowledge in a digestible format should be rewarded for their efforts.

From my quick search and bad memory, it can be played solo, but it looks like combat requires a group to enable all the feats and abilities. Doesn’t look like they’re implementing a solo build that can do it without some serious grind. But I’m sure someone will game out a solution.

I will probably still take it for a quick spin if the reviews are good, but as an old dude who can’t dedicate time to MMOs to be good at them, I’d just rather all games be made to suit my particular tastes. /s

It’s been a long while since I read it, but each book got a little bit more pretentious with the author shoe horning his own world view into the readers face. That was annoying, but even more so because I recall disagreeing with his view quite a bit.

Also, each book was essentially the same plot. Universe works to keep the two protagonists apart, a bunch of fucked up shit happens, and at the end of the books they’re back together having learned nothing.

But the real issue I had with the later works was the very real Mary Sue of the two protagonists. Those characters just could do everything. It got boring and stale after a couple books of it.

I still hold Sword of Truth to be a good book by itself. And I do recall liking the next two books at least. But as a whole, I do not think it’s good storytelling.

Shame it’s an MMO. Looks pretty though.

No hate, but you’re the first person I’ve heard say it was their favourite. I enjoyed the first few books, but dude went off the deep end in later books. Became damn near unreadable for me. And I think majority of readers have similar views. I doubt any attempt would survive the hate and t would receive.

If they cast the rock in a Big Trouble sequel, I’m becoming a terrorist. He will ruin any franchise with his ego.

Damn. I was only on season 4 of Stargate.

Hey he’s not exactly wrong. The company who can release humanoid automatons would very likely be the richest company in the world. Exponentially richer.

But I’ve seen what comes out of Tesla. I’m not betting that will be the company that does it.
