Idk I think without the new testament, the Bible is kind of a drag. I like the idea of redemption much more than an unknowable, complicated, emotionally volitile sky-god. And when I refer to Jesus I mean the Christ who died and came back to life to fulfill the prophesy. I’m sure there was at least one rabbi named Jesus out there, but without the metaphysical (fictional) stuff I quickly lose interest.
When I encounter teenagers who use reddit I tell them to look up “subreddit of the year 2008” just to gross them out.
Folks who are not members of a privileged ruling class have no real say about what their leadership does with the military regardless of the illusion of choice they’re given on election day. The idea that average, working class Americans are responsible for national guard troop deployments in US cities for stated political purposes can only come from a privileged person who has the kind of power and control to do anything to affect the situation. I know that’s not me.
If anyone wants a suggestion for something they can personally do to help America’s national situation, go to the food bank and move boxes around, and if you’ve got enough money to do it, go to the local megamart and buy all the clearance and donate it. Food stamps are gone starting Monday.

Social justice isn’t the only thing on people’s minds. If that’s all you care about in your life you need to get some friends, make some hobbies, and start working on enjoying the life you have instead of constantly hand-wringing in endless despair over the state of “society”.

Group chats aren’t private. Individuals could possibly disclose what you tell them one-on-one. If in your life there’s something as damaging as what was said in those chats you’re talking about, keep it to yourself. Or better yet, get some new opinions.
I don’t know much about this platform but as a person who really tries to avoid politics on the internet and focus on cool stuff like hobbies and cat videos I wouldn’t recommend people come here. There’s enough folks getting riled about politics. People need to focus on their local community and their family and what’s happening there, not mainstream US politics 24/7.
