Though even snowboarding I haven’t had the opportunity to go in years. It is pretty boring alone, after all.

My main issue is that the beginner’s stance they teach you is trying to maintain a pie shape to reduce your speed as you go down. The problem is that the skis want to either be parallel, either go fully horizontal. It takes a ton of effort to resist the skis’ tendency to align themselves that way, and the consequences for failure are dramatic.

There’s assuredly a way to make it easier, but with the trauma I have, I’m not sure I’ll want to give it another try.

Huh. I never had an instructor. But yeah to me standing on my toes or heels for a while isn’t all that hard to me, even though I’m not in good shape. I guess that makes one (1) part of me that’s not critically weak.

I never understood that. When snowboarding, you can just rotate to brake, and then you can just sit to take a break if you want. Heck, you can even do the leaf down a whole slope, easily and safely, and it’s still kind of fun.

Meanwhile, skiing requires superhuman leg strength, even if you just want to go slowly, and will twist your legs in gruesome ways when you fall.

Have you looked into becoming a nurse practitioner? You sound like you might feel more fulfilled with more medical knowledge and a job in more of an expert role.

Oh I could likely see the difference. But if there’s a significant impact on battery life, I would probably be just fine with the lower resolution.

It would suck if the touchscreen option were only available with a 4K resolution because of that.

Wild how different it can be.

I’m Canadian, but… Fruit, I guess. Some fruit we get from places like Greece, Spain or Italy, both canned and fresh. We could live without them, but surely there’d be moments in the year when we couldn’t get fresh peaches, for example, at the supermarket, without European imports.

But it’s not a majority. We get quite a bit from South America, North Africa, and, astonishingly, as far as South Africa, too.

Though there isn’t much else. It’s rarely worth it to import food from another rich country, all the way across the ocean, in today’s world.

Though interestingly, I bought “canned” soup (actually packaged in a plastic bag) that came from Lithuania, of all places.

That’s good and all but man is that person a big fan of aria properties.

To be clear, they’re not bad, but they’re a little brute-forcey. There’s often a way to achieve the same purpose without them.

For instance, instead of aria-pressed with buttons, you can just use radio buttons and labels. And your can just put heading elements in your sections instead of naming them with aria properties.
