If I was Google I would be hugely worried about ChatGPT. I’ve started using it to search for info over mainly DuckDuckGo but also Google.

On my second ID4, and the wife has our first ID3. Lovely cars to drive, will never go back to an ice car again.
It’s the same in Ireland, WhatsApp is pervasive. It was a great app until Zuck bought it. It’s still a good app but I hate using anything by him.
Please, please, make them sell WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is ubiquitous in Ireland, if only it was as easy to get away from it. Everything from clubs, schools, kids sport is done via group chats on WhatsApp. Absolutely hate Meta as a company, WhatsApp is the only app I use of theirs and only because they bought it from under us. If we could get proper interoperability, we could use a non WhatsApp app, but it’s not looking good so far.
So it looks like the problems are on the WhatsApp side. The EU should force them to get the finger out and come up with a proper solution.
Interesting point. Does that mean iPhones and Android can now have a shared group over imessage/whatever it’s called in Android? Are those messages encrypted?

Signal is great. Think I read that WhatsApp will be forced to allow interoperability with other apps. Would be great if you could use Signal to access chats that started on WhatsApp. Fuck Zuckerberg. Whatsapp the only Meta app I use and only because the bastards bought it
As soon as they’re forced to allow interoperability with other apps, I’ll be deleting WhatsApp. Had a Facebook from the beginning but deleted it when the Cambridge Analytica scandal happened. Have never had an Instagram. Fuck Meta and its horrible owner.
Thank fuck I deleted my Facebook when I did (around the time of the Cambrige Analytica scandal). Never had an Instagram.

This type of stuff will get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
1·7 months agoHaven’t stopped but I watch very little TV, whether on terrestrial or Internet. Listen to way more music and radio these days.
Problematic for who, the tech companies? They’re practically printing money. Let them spend it on actual solutions to issues that are causing problems for the World.
Actually yeah, forgot about having to do that on my 1st ID4.
It must be an Android update as that’s all I ever do, and I never installed Gemini. I just checked and it was there, with permissions to access WhatsApp and multiple other apps. I just removed all the permissions and disabled the app. We’ll see if any future updates turn it back on.
Shhhhhneeeeeky bastards.
