Yes. Especially for chicken breasts. It’s easy enough to know for sure they’re done, but they’re much easier to eat as soon as they hit 155F. My immune system has never questioned my chicken, but my taste buds are very thankful for the meat thermometer.

I don’t have thermal imaging, but I used an IR thermometer and recorded temps as much as ten degrees lower in the places with water staining than in other parts of the wall/room/house. Any tips for finding the leaks/improving insulation? Right now my best idea is cutting holes in each cavity and blowing in insulation, but I’m not an expert at all.

I like it because it gets the angles right with little fuss and without breaking the bank. You can buy a stand to hold it up on, but I’ve been satisfied just using a squeeze clamp to hold the included Lansky knife clamp to the counter top.

I was also the geeky kid that learned to download games for the calculator and knew how to transfer them, so my high scores soon began to populate the school. For the next few years, I’d meet recently graduated underclassmen at my university and they’d be like “You’re the guy with the Tetris scores on my calculator!” To this day it may be my biggest claim to fame.
A while back I stumbled upon a YouTube channel called Desert Drifter. He hikes through the desert and showcases ancient cliff dwellings and other structures. It’s oddly captivating.

BanjoShepard@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•what should I consider before buying winter running gloves?3·8 months agoI don’t run in gloves often because I’m so much warmer when I’m running than I am when I’m walking or standing outside. I generally dress as if it were 20 degrees warmer than it is, but it can be problematic for the first bit of a run. What I’ve found works best for me is running a short loop that comes back to my house in an easy to remove jacket, hat, and gloves that I can drop off at the door on my way past then continuing with the bulk of my run. In these cases any old gloves will do. When I do wear gloves for the full run, I wear a pair of thin, but insulated gloves from Heat that I got at Costco. They have silver in the fingers, so I can use my phone. It’s more difficult than without the gloves, but it’s not like I’m using my phone much mid run anyway.

At work, we named the old, decrepit copier Opal in an effort to humanize it and get people to treat the old girl with more love and patience.

Then This Candidate Came Along.7·9 months agoThe good news here is that all the signs in Cherry county still all only account for fifteen voters (thank goodness cattle can’t vote), so a lot of Osborne signs in Omaha is still a good sign. It seems fun so far, but I haven’t gotten very far yet. I’m playing with a group of friends and it seems a little harder to juggle solo vs group play in Enshrouded than it was in Valheim since it’s more quest/exploration based for experience.

Is Nebula good? Every time I watch Practical Engineering, I’m tempted to get it.
I do enjoy Cody’s Lab from time to time. I’ll have to check out This old Tony.
I always heard 165 too, but I looked at the chart on the meat thermometer and it said 155 for breast. I tried it out and it’s much juicer.
