  • I’m not sure whay the OS you use is, but on linux (debian based) they have a Curl installer that installs their Systemd service preconfigured for your account and the specific tunnel you’re using.

Once that is installed, configuration is pretty easy. Inside their ZeroTrust portal, you will find the options to configure ports.

Always point your tunnel to https://localhost:port or http://localhost:port. You can get a TLS cert from lets-encrypt for your first one. New certifications are issued by cloudflare’s partners regularly to prevent expiration. I think I have like 3 for my domain now? 1 from Lets-Encrypt and a couple from Google.

This could be totally unrelated, but when I first configured my domain, I used DuckDNS as my DNS registrar so I could do everything over wireguard. That’s is still set up and in Cloudflare I still have duckdns included in my DNS registry. Could he worth a shot to set that up and add it to your DNS registry on cloudflare.

  • Years ago I purchased a Fossil Explorist Q wearable smartwatch. The first software update, about a month after I bought it, turned the device from a functional smartwatch into a brick that was so slow it was nearly nonfunctional.

The device was not powerful enough to run all the spyware they tried to pack into that update, turning it into an on wrist heater, occasionally getting Hot enough to burn me.

I’ve never seen a device so thoroughly destroyed by enshittification so quickly. That’s experience turned me off of wearables forever. Maybe I’ll make my own someday. Maybe I’ll get a Pebble now that they’re back-ish. I’ll never get anything with wearOS on it again. Hell after the last year I might never get something with Android/iOS again either.

  • Downvoting requires you: A. Click into the video
    B. Select the downvote button, thereby engaging with the video

The algorithm is not designed to feed you content you like, only content that will generate clicks and interaction. The only way to eliminate that content from your feed is to forcibly remove it, as they have designed the feed such that it is impossible not to interact with it.

Again, I suggest trying freetube as a frontend, as it allows you to retitle and rethumbnail clickbait videos, and remove shorts from your feeds, thereby eliminating the skinner box that is youtube from your life.

  • Youtube shorts.

Imagine you’re a gamer, one who is interested in game Design. Your view history has games, gaming, game design, but it’s also full of algotrash talking heads, scam baiters, shit slingers. You open the YouTube app on your phone, and it immediately opens to shorts, you don’t remember settings that as the default but it’s fine, you recognize the creator and the 45 second clip was neat. Swipe up. Next video, it Nile Blue dropping a beaker of chloroauric acid. Next video, its Chris Boden yelling about some kind of electrical infrastructure you don’t understand (and that’s pretty cool). Next video, Thor, speaking softly, explaining an aspect of game design that you never thought of. This one catches your attention, its in your wheelhouse, its something you’re genuinely interested in. You click the profile, swipe through a few more shorts. Your algorithm is permanently damaged. Your a pirate software fan now, whether you like it or not.

Or you can use freetube and never see algotrash talking heads in your feed and never enter into this cycle.

  • Porcine slang is quite versatile in English!

Pig: someone unkempt or otherwise undesirable.

Pig: an officer of the law.

Hog: to keep all or most of something to oneself.

Hog: a motorcycle, specifically a Harley Davidson or Indian Motorcycles style bike, rather than a sport-bike

Hog: I’m jorkin it right now, and by it, let’s just say…

Swine: a relatively outdated generic insult (ex “you uncultured swine”)

Pig-out: to engage in excess, to act as a glutton.
