Anahkiasen@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•My roommate said he’ll pay my share of the rent if I do housework for him. Does this sound like a good deal?28·2 months agoAll I know is the moment they start to request the cleaning be done in a particular outfit or if they drop something on the floor in front of you for you to clean, that’s when it’s time to run or pay the rent yourself 😬

I only know about some of the later parts with WWW. The internet is baked with so many amazing ideas I’m glad it came to be from people with humanity’s good at heart or that at least wanted to protect it from the worst elements and share knowledge.
Inclusive doesn’t mean they let everybody in regardless, I understand you were trying to help but they’re asking women’s opinion in a women community and you start with “hello I’m not a woman but” 😅

And in any of these three situations I feel these kind of “both sides” strictly surface facts answers do more harm than good. Maybe ChatGPT is more subtle but it breaks my heart seeing people running to DeepSeek when the vision of the world it explains to you is so obviously excised from so many realities. Some people need some morals and actual “human” answers hammered into them because they lack the empathy to do so themselves unfortunately.
Anahkiasen@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Technology@lemmy.world•Nvidia falls 14% in premarket trading as China's DeepSeek triggers global tech sell-offEnglish52·5 months agoI mean that’s the kind of answer DeepSeek gives you if you ask it about Uyghurs. “Some say it’s a genocide but they don’t so guess we’ll never know ¯_(ツ)_/¯”, it acts as if there’s a complete 50/50 split on the issue which is not the case.
I say it because my neurodivergent ass memory is my mortal enemy and decides on its own what to remember or not so I have about a 60% confidence on any statement unless it’s a special interest.

The whole industry won’t recover because its an industry. It follows the rules of capitalism and its a constant race to the worse and while good games by good people happen on the side, they happen in spite of the system. Everything else is working as expected and will continue until you pay per minute to stream games you rent with intermittent forced ads and paid level unlocks.

Anahkiasen@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto Technology@lemmy.world•NASA finally admits what everyone already knows: SLS is unaffordableEnglish31·2 years agoThat was my immediate thought, it’s space exploration, it’s meant to cost more than is reasonable or affordable, because monetary rationale has never been a factor in it. Even if it did pay out in the long run with inventions and discoveries in the past, it’s never going to make budget sense because exploration and pushing our specie’s boundaries shouldn’t be. It’s a miracle what space agencies are/were able to accomplish with super strict budgets in the past, but in the end there’s only so much you can do by cutting corners and letting the private sector fill the gaps
Anahkiasen@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto World News@beehaw.org•This used to be a witty title but some pro-censorship arse complained so here we areFrançais14·2 years agoThe worst part is that often people telling you what milk should be or not don’t even know how the milk they drink is made or where it comes from. The number of non vegan people who think cows “just make milk” all the time for free and that it’s carefully harvested by a dude while rubbing her back when the reality is so drastically more horrifying.
Anahkiasen@lemmy.blahaj.zoneto World News@beehaw.org•This used to be a witty title but some pro-censorship arse complained so here we areFrançais6·2 years agoThey’re not even on the same shelves, there was never any confusion possible, just like people don’t think “fruits de mer” are fruits or “lait de corp” is milk. This is just a completely meaningless power move from the lobbies but to be clear it is not in response to people overwhelmingly being tricked into gasp eating healthy products. Now it’s the other way around and it’s confusing for vegetarian/vegan people because stuff like soy milk is now labeled “soy drink” and is shelved next to the ACTUAL soy drinks with sugar and stuff in it, and so on.
