When you say “new” music, do you mean actual new music, or just music that is new to you?
I have recently started listening to an artist that I missed when she was popular, Alice Deejay, it started with wanting to see the music video for the song “Castles in the sky” by Ian van Dahl, and going to Youtube, and the song “Better of alone” by Alice Deejay showed up.
So I tend to go to YT and look there.
In the past I have looked for top playlists in different categories and found music that way.
Then you have two very similar pages full of terabytes of legal free music that has some amazing stuff…
https://remix.kwed.org/ - Commodore 64 remixes
http://amigaremix.com/ - Amiga remixes
And don’t forget the amazing SLAYradio, an internet radio station that plays C64 remixes and has download links to the current song playing (for the most part), I got soo much music through that place.
Asking general interest questions, discussing experiences and parts of life in general.
Open ended questions.
Questions like
“Pilots, how bad was your worst landing?”
“What kind of domestic specific soda do you enjoy and what does it taste like?”
“Did you have to go to a skid pan and train for slippery roads to get your driving license?”
are good open ended experienced based questions.
Asking how to download X is a support question and should be posted in the relevant community.

So stuff like this is sadly needed.
stoy@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•First responders of lemmy, do you ever find yourself hating the people you're saving when you're constantly dealing with easily-avoidable catastrophes?18·5 days agoThis is similar to what they train Swedish train drivers to do if they are about to run someone over.
They are taught to close their eyes hard, cover their ears and scream as loud as possible.
This to distances themselves from the impact as much as possible

We would also loose the moral superiority on the issue.

Metapixl is indeed a pixelfed instance, I even use the standard pixelfed app on iOS…

I divide X money over Y time.
I enjoy photography, and bough a fancy camera with a bonus at my last job.
In total I have probably spent 30k SEK on the camera and lenses, I bought it in early 2023, so let’s say that I have had a year and a half to enjoy it, that is 18 months
30k/18months is about 1.7k/month so far, and in return I got thousands of photos, some of which can be found here:
I just can’t get behind logitech any more, ever since they started installing Logitech Download Assistant as soon as you plug in a logitech device in your system with out prompting, I have boycotted them ever since.
stoy@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•Adblockers stop publishers serving ads to (or even seeing) 1bn web users - Press GazetteEnglish45·10 days agoI have said it before and I’ll say it again.
Adblockers are a critical part of any modern computer’s security suit, and everyone should use them.
I won’t even consider removing mine unless the owners of a site with ads take full responsibility for any dammage to my computer coming from visiting their site with out an adblocker.
This is due to the fact that ads can be hijacked and infect your computer with malware just by accessing the site.
I have also experienced my browser being hijacked by clicking a link that was compromized, it redirected my browser in a loop, then opened a javascript password popup box that took all focus from the browser window and refused to go away, while the page below displayed a message that I needed to call tech support.
It was very annoying to resolve, Firefox would by default restore any pages that was open in a tab if the browser crashed, and since the password prompt was stealing focus from the browser window, I had to kill it through the Task manager, which restored the page on start up…
I had to create a new profile, then it it solved it
I have had several USB sticks that have corrupted files in my work, so many that I have simply accepted that USB sticks should be avoided for any kind of long term data storage.
USB sticks are a consumable, they should not be treated as anything but temporary storage.
I would look into an external SSD instead.
This is my professional opinion as an IT technician.

Fun fact, when striking oil, you often encounter methane pockets as well, the gas is commonly just burned in a giant flare, this is mainly done for safety, to prevent gas from accumulating on the ground and risking an explosion, but also far reduce the greenhouse effect of the gas.
If you truly have nothing else, spite can work wonders as a motivator…
