LordGimp@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Operation Narnia: Iran’s nuclear scientists reportedly killed simultaneously using special weaponEnglish462·28 days agoThere is no “international authority”. It’s all big stick politics out there. It’s like trying to go after a corporation in the US. The “punishments” when they break the law are fines, if that, and any admonishment not to fuck over the same person in the same way again.
Think about your boss shorting you $100. The “legal” process involves YEARS of waiting for a court date, a labor code interpreted heavily in favor of the employer, and at the end of the day, they get fines and maybe have to pay back what you rightfully earned in the first place.
Now think about what happens when you steal $100 from work. Immediate police involvement, possible arrest, absolute legal consequences even if you’re cleared years later, the presumption of guilt from everyone in society.
It’s even worse on a political stage. Nobody has the moral fortitude to step forward and fix shit because it’s broken. Everyone just waits around until the collective consciousness supports some sort of social consequence on the offender in question. That’s not even tying race or religion into the mix, which Israel loves to twist up into their particular brand of nationalism.
The civil world is simply too polite to call them out for all their shit. It’s a whole world full of chickenshit and I am tired of the stink.
LordGimp@lemm.eeto News@lemmy.world•‘I can't fight back; I'm pregnant': U.S. citizen detained by ICE in Hawthorne6·1 month agoShepard Book already showed us the way. Send them directly to the special hell.
This is what so many people fail to understand.
When your boss steals $100 from your paycheck, you’re supposed to file a wage claim, wait years for your day in court, and even when you show that the company stole from you, the punishment for them is a small fine ($50 per person first time, $100 per person every time after that). You don’t even get the fine. The fine is paid to the state.
Now flip it around and imagine what happens when you steal $100 from the company. Immediate legal repercussions, multiple court dates, probation if you’re lucky and jail if you’re not.
The entire system is designed to fuck people as hard as possible while reserving the kid gloves for corporations and oligarchs.
I am gleefully awaiting the day protesters start disappearing federal agents/national guard. Fuck all fascists, even the ones “just following orders”. No habeas corpus is a two way street motherfuckers
LordGimp@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are American cops allowed to be morbidly obese?533·1 month agoYou misunderstand. Cops in the US have no legal obligation to protect OR serve anyone. Check out the NY subway guy that was attacked with a knife while cops watched from 10 feet away behind bulletproof glass. They literally hid in the conductor booth and watched this guy get stabbed in the fucking face repeatedly.
Not only did the guy survive, he actually overpowered and subdued the attacker. Guy brought a suit against the NYPD for failing to protect him when their motto at the time was literally “Protect and serve”. Long story short, the end result is that he got a real live judge to say out loud that police have no actual duty to protect you when it could endanger themselves. Coupled with your observation on the obesity of American cops, it could be argued that walking down the street to issue a ticket could be lethal for the cop in question and therefore they have no obligation to do it, they simply choose to do it out of spite.

LordGimp@lemm.eeto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Who is a celebrity you used to really like, but don't anymore?104·1 month agoI never understood this take. Like, did you not actually listen to the shit he said when you “liked” his shows? Did you not see the skit where he went on a morning interview and told his female interviewer that he was going to jerk off to her later and there was nothing she could do about it? If so, how was it actually surprising to hear he jerked off infront of a female coworker after he told her he was going to do it? You can separate the art from the artist all you want, but at some point you have to realize that all that art came from somewhere.
I mean yeah they kinda do or people wouldn’t exist today. At some point, some rocks have to get off for the species to survive.
LordGimp@lemm.eeto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Roommate refuses to use my body wash cause it's not "manly"English31·2 months agoA good 20% of the appeal in actually dating women is getting to use their forbidden female bath products every once in a while when your 11 in 1 manboy all purpose body scrub, shampoo, conditioner, lubricant, fuel oil, anti seize, weed killer, bug repellent, fire starter, persevative, and paint stripper runs out.

LordGimp@lemm.eeto Games@lemmy.world•What games are just objective masterpieces?English5·2 months agoChromehounds was the greatest mech game on shitbox 360 and you can’t change my mind.
The sheer variety in player created metas was glorious to behold. Sure, you could play how the game encouraged you to play and hang your weapons in “normal” configurations. But you could also bury whole teams in indirect fire with a triple double from across the map. You could build a little punchy boi buggy with a dick piston, cockpit, wheels, and nothing else. You could even try to sweat the meta in the chicken leg howitzer or the turtle up in the armored crab.
The only limits were creativity and spacer availability lmfaooo

Bottom line with SCPs is that anything is possible.

Found that little gem a few weeks ago and I believe it fits your ask pretty well 1:1
Honestly almost as good as my other favorite the past few years, https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/63759/super-supportive, but the latter seems to be more active than the former.
This guy studies the old magicks
The Stupendium made an Outer Worlds song called The Fine Print that also goes hard af for either setting imo.
You want the Outer Wilds. NOT Outer Worlds. That’s Bethesda trash.
